Georgia Democrat Would Prefer To Keep Confederate Monuments Than Build One Of Clarence Thomas

Democratic Georgia state Rep. Donna McLeod said she would rather keep a Confederate monument than erect a statue of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

I’d rather them keep a Confederate monument than a statue of Clarence Thomas,” McLeod said, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Friday. “That’s how much I don’t like the idea.” (RELATED: Democrats Compare Republicans To Confederates And Jim Crow, Then Expect The GOP To Work With Them)

Georgia Republicans are considering a proposal to display a statue of Thomas on the statehouse grounds, the ACJ reported. Thomas, a Pinpoint, Georgia, native, grew up in poverty under Jim Crow. He went on to attend Yale Law School and was appointed to the Supreme Court by former President George H. W. Bush.

It’s always amazing, the antipathy of liberals towards black Republicans/conservatives.

The liberals profess to be so supportive of black and other minority groups. And to celebrate the achievements of members of said groups. Yet here we have only the 2nd black man to ever sit on the Supreme Court, and the liberals do not honor him.

This is a major contradiction with liberal ideology. On the one hand they say they support and honor achievements of allegedly oppressed minorities. On the other hand, they only celebrate those members of minority groups who are liberal. Go figure.

"Georgia Democrat Would Prefer To Keep Confederate Monuments Than Build One Of Clarence Thomas"

This is a false dichotomy, we should do both.

I would rather have the confederate monument and offend the Woke.

Indeed, whatever offends the Woke, if it’s something agreeable to you, do more of it!

If they want a statue pulled down then put up another. If they want the name of something changed then take back the name of another already changed. If they tell you that you offend them then smile warmly and say “You’re welcome!”

The only way to deal with the Woke is to be content to simply offend them. If you ever accommodate them they are not satisfied, they only ever become worse. There is no living with the Woke, of tolerating them or being tolerated by them. Once they accept the particulars of their world view they may either recant or else remain enemies domestic … and there’s really no middle ground (much as with communists).

“Go figure.”

The liberals want blacks to stay on the liberal plantation.

NEED them to stay. If Blacks returned to the GOP (as they were in the North until FDR and in the South until JFK), the Demonrat party would be wiped out in many states.

They really should be proud of Clarence Thomas, who grew up in a very poor family in Savannah…he was brought up by his grandparents after his mother and father drifted off into drugs and dysfunction. He was a Catholic and his grandfather sent him to the black Catholic school (this was during segregation) staffed by the Mercy Nuns, and founded by Bishop Verot, a supporter of the Confederacy but not a racist, during the Civil War as soon as the city was occupied by the Union and the Emancipation Proclamation was read. The school was for the children of the recently emancipated black slaves, who were generally illiterate and also had received little or no religious education.

Clarence Thomas credits one of his old nuns with making him buckle down and do his work, even though he started the day at 4:00 am delivering heating oil with his grandfather in the black neighborhoods and was tired when he got to school. But she gave him a talking-to, he got to work and the rest is history.

You really can’t get a much better and more authentic Georgia story than that.

A Clarence Thomas statue should be special. I would surround it with a walkway with laser engraved stone plaques featuring his most important judicial commentaries.

Compromise would be making an exchange. Take the Thurgood Marshall one from Kamala’s office and put the Clarence Thomas one in there.

Where to put the Marshall one? Maybe Barack and Michelle’s surveillance center in their DC office. With a high tech bugging device hidden inside sending audio to digital recorders outside in a van.

Use the same financing for SCOTUS Thomas’ monument as was used for the Confederate Monuments.
