Kentucky Republican wants to redirect proposed Afghanistan aid to finance Israel's missile defense system
In the latest hurdle to Israel receiving $1 billion in funding to replenish its Iron Dome missile defense system after May's Gaza conflict, Republican Senator Rand Paul from Kentucky has blocked swift passage of the bill, Politico reports.
The lawmaker is an opponent of US foreign aid and is insisting that the Iron Dome money be offset by redirecting financial assistance for Afghanistan.
“He proposed that we pay for the House bill with money that is going to go to the Taliban,” a spokeswoman for the Kentucky senator told Politico.

And it has nothing to do with Israel’s spiritual state, but the fact that God said the Gentiles should not boast against the natural Vine, because the nations of the world are indebted to Israel for all of the spiritual blessings that have issued from this Jewish nation. Namely, the revealed Word of God, penned by Jewish prophets and apostles, and the Word made flesh, the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s Son.

Wanting Israel to fund its OWN defense ( which it can already easily afford ) is now antisemitic apparently....
Rand works for America, not another nation which shall not be named.
Israel does fund it’s own defense...we assist because Israel is our footprint in the Middle East basically. We have supported Israel for decades and with that comes a promise. I fully support whatever we do for Israel but the Iron Dome is necessary.

I have been advocating for several years a policy I call ‘embaseees’. Embassy + AirBase —> EmBASEeees. We go into a terrorist country, clear out their taliban equivalent, then withdraw to very large Embassies, perhaps 3 of them. Have them big enough to encompass a military airbase where we can use it for decades on end to conduct anti-terrorism operations. As long as the ‘host’ country aint killing Americans then we let them have self-sovereignty. Kind of like how we operated in the Phillipines for decades. We could even have an intermediate zone that we patrol but it would be autonomous. Let them have their taste of freedom. A referendum every 10 years to see how large the boundaries of the intermediate autonomous zone should be.

Okay, I understand that. I agree that our culture is superior to the vast majority of cultures on the planet, which is why they line up to come here.
The line between Tijuana and San Diego is a classic example. It isn’t geographical, it isn’t a change in climate, it isn’t a change in anything but a cultural line drawn by politicians more than a century ago and one culture is far superior to the other.
The same superiority of culture exists between our ally Israel and her jew-hating neighbors.
There used to be a culture of superiority visible difference across the Iron Curtain but that seems to have vanished.
As long as your bigotry is shared equally across inferior cultures, I don’t have a problem with it. But there’s an inferior/superior culture line between Israel and her neighbors just as there is between Tijuana and San Diego.
