Three soldiers at an army base in New York are suspected to have died by suicide within just 48 hours, with one of them being among the last of the troops to leave Afghanistan just one month ago.
Pfc. Tyler Thomas, 21, Spc. Sika Tapueluelu, 26, and Staff Sgt. Angel Green, 24, assigned to the 10th Mountain Division, all died within two days of each other in mid-September at Fort Drum army base in New York.
Staff Sgt. Green, Green, an infantryman assigned to 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment (The Polar Bears), 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, was one of the last soldiers to return home during the chaotic and bloody US pull out of Afghanistan at the end of August and didn't return to New York until September 6.
Pfc. Thomas died on September 16, before Staff Sgt. Green and Spc. Sika Tapueluelu died a day later.
Major Gen. Milford H. Beagle Jr., division commander, declared he is committed to discovering the reasons behind his soldiers' deaths which were officially announced by a Fort Drum spokesperson on September 19.
'Immediately when we have a situation when a Soldier is suspected of taking their own life, we want to know the trigger,' the commander said in a statement.
'What are the underlying challenges that contributed to the decision to harm themselves? We want to know what didn't we catch? What are we missing? This is what our immediate focus is.'
Fort Drum spokesman Lt. Col. Josh Jacques said all three are believed to have been unrelated 'self-harm incidents' while unit leaders insisted that each death will be looked at individually.

Or what they said no to.
Survivor guilt?
How about the fact that there is zero accountability at the top levels of the military and civilian leaders? How about young men being forced to swallow SJW swill?
What did they know about the Clintons? It was New York, after all...
I don’t think so. The men who survived the most dangerous missions and got shot many times never quit. I think they are
being silenced.
Yup
RIP
Another chapter in the 9 month Biden-woke-DC establishment program: “Why you do NOT want to join the US military.”
OTOH, when there is no mention of how these soldiers died, and when euphemistic phrases like "characteristics of suicidal ideation" and "isolated and unconnected suspected self-harm incidents" litter the reporting, one wonders what is really meant when the DoD announces, "In order to not preclude the findings of those investigations and to allow 24 hours from notification of next of kin, we are unable to provide more details at this time."
After the Afghan military debacle and the JCS Chairman's conspiracy to commit treason, there's not much credibility left at the top level of the military.
were they forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement - not to tell, not to be interviewed - keep it all to yourself - or else?????
I also cry for the maimed who never get over their loss of limbs and psyche (soul, mind, and spirit) and wind up on the streets. Thinking about Iraq and Afganiscrap over the years, I've never come to a solution to deal with those so affected. Some manage and build new lives, some don't. I will never disparage those who don't.
However, I WILL disparage those who put our young into such useless wars and nation-building. This is the 2nd time in my life I've seen our youth wasted in losing wars.
One of my friends came home to find out his wife spent his 20G re-enlistment bonus bailing out her boyfriend.
Suicides after the Capitol riot were blamed on Trump.
Maybe they watched General Milley’s testimony?
10th Mountain Division has been doing more than its share of the fighting for the last 20 years. It’s heartbreaking that the collective sacrifice of those troops and their families, including many loved ones that never returned home, ended in this disaster organized but the complete screwups in Washington.
I have seen and heard so much tragedy in my time in the Army from “Jody”,suicide,a-hole chain of command and other FUBAR occurrences:Gulf War,Somalia,CONUS,Kosovo and Iraq. The operation in Afghanistan must have been pure hell with sh*t for brains OPORD,chain of command and totally FUBAR AO. I knew some hard core and soft core who simply break. I see it all of the aftermath at my VA.
Apparently, they've identified a particular stressor not related to the Afghan deployment.
By the way, suicide rates in white and Native American men is 2.5 to 3 times the rate in male black or hispanic populations. I don't think Milley's "white rage" is not helping troopers stay alive.
Somebody saw too much.
