Some big names of the conservative movement are trying to bring attention to what’s at stake through redistricting. That includes former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, co-chairmen of the National Republican Redistricting Trust.
In Washington state, Democrats submitted their redistricting map proposals, which Jason Rantz notes largely aims to get rid of competitive districts. Christie says this is happening all across the country.

The Democrat judges are just waiting to declare the maps unconstitutional.
Democrats submitted their redistricting map proposals, which Jason Rantz notes largely aims to get rid of CONSERVATIVE districts.......................There, fixed it..............
How about first starting with the idea of fair and constitutional elections? Otherwise...why bother?
Gerrymandering happens. The liberals complain about how Republicans do it, but Democrats do it in places where they have the power to do so.
The only “fair” way, in my opinion, would be to use computer technology to draw districts which are as geographically compact and as equal in population as possible. It can be done. But then there would be more politically competitive districts , so both parties would be unhappy with that.
Yes, it can be done fairly.
That’s why it will never happen....................
In other words, we’ll endeavor to make districts as moderate as possible. And we’ll rid the Congress of undesirable troublemakers, like we did Alan West ten years ago.
That’s stupid.
If the ‘Pubbies have control of redistricting, they should exploit hell out it, just like Democrats.
Being ‘nice’ will just get them screwed.
The RINOs are ensuring that they will never be in the majority again. This way they don't have to be responsible for anything. Just do the cocktail circuit and collect money from the CoC folks.
To hell with that fat bastard.
Christie is always totally wrong.
Would not trust him with anything.
Pure RINO.
Districts should be drawn to enclose the correct number of people within the shortest practical length of district border lines. This would create lumpish / irregular shapes but there would be no more gerrymandering ever.
Congressional districts could be drawn by algorithm using several versions averaged over iterations: starting with two runs, one from the State capitol building and expanding towards the State borders and the other starting at the State’s borders and progressing inward, with counties (parishes in LA) acting as strong attractors to further conform lines to historical subdivisions.
The only demographic referenced should be “person” … though really only citizens should ever be counted.
The next thing to be done is to greatly reduce the size of districts, the population target they are to hold, which will make them territorially smaller too. This should be done in stages to cause and maintain as much chaos to the seniority system in Congress as possibly sustained till everything is done, with the goal of halving the number of people in any district.
I would point out that this should help resolve proportionate representation demands without proportionate representation nitwittery as we suffer now.
Ideally, though this would take an amendment, each State should get 3 senators too, that way there would always be a Senator up for re-election in every State every two years as well as help maintain the Electoral College, what with many more Housecritters being added.
If we want to be fair, districts should be squares and rectangles.
Welcome to Christie Caverns... Biggest cave in the East...
Fat ass, Lou Costello look-a-like f’ing RINO.
