Itzehoe (Germany) (AFP) — A 96-year-old former secretary at a concentration camp will go on trial in Germany Thursday, one of the first women implicated in Nazi-era crimes to be prosecuted in decades.
Irmgard Furchner is charged with complicity in the murders of more than 10,000 people at the Stutthof camp in occupied Poland.

The wheels of justice turn slowly.
She was probably stealing pens and paper clips from the supply closet. All secretaries are guilty of that.
Irmgard is now on the run. She was the commandant’s secretary.
She batted off, she scarpered.

She would have been around 20 when the war ended and younger throughout the war. 76 years is a long time to turn a wheel.
Only the good die young
WTH is to be gained now by prosecuting a low level secretary in the employ of the Nazi’s? At 96 she’s not long for this world and she’s not exactly Heinrich Himmler. Waste of time.
They know Biden would hire her. So they want her convicted and in prison.
Well there are still lots of those JoJo Rabbits out there to running loose to hunt down and bring to trial. And yet no one is interested in Kaytn, or the many pear orchards in the old USSR, along with the bodies under the frozen ground of the Gulags. If we go by 6 degrees of association, we may find that this old woman is related to Trump, then it will be BIG news.
Too bad she wasn’t a rocket scientist, like Werner von Braun.
The court better hurry up or they will be hanging a dead body. Talk about beating a dead horse.
Eisenhower should have caught and executed all these criminals immediately after the surrender. Very few as a percentage were held accountable for the evils they did.
Same with MacArthur and the Japanese - there should have been a lot more executions, including the Emperor after we defeated them.
No joke.
In my earlier days as a pilot I would run into Operation Paperclip criminals in Fort Bliss in El Paso or at White Sands.
They were just as smug and evil as you would expect.
Laughing at that which they got got away.
And then there was Albert Speer getting away with his “Good German” act, should have been hanged with the rest of them.
She was 16 years old when she began as a secretary for the camp. Leave her alone.
I think the main point is to embarrass the government.
She’s been a wanted criminal since 1946.
She lived openly, in Germany, going about her life, people fully aware that she was a war criminal, and no one said anything.
Show her the same mercy she showed on 96 year old Jews that showed up under her care in the camp.
“Eisenhower should have caught and executed all these criminals immediately after the surrender. Very few as a percentage were held accountable for the evils they did.

We got rid of all of Saddmans henchmen and look what happened. Country turned into choas. It’s been well reported if we kept them on Iraq would have turned out different.
The Germans we kept on were instrumental in fighting the communist.
Don't you think there are some crimes so horrific that those who aided and abetted the crime should be prosecuted, no matter how much time has passed? If for no other reason than to establish precedent for the next time?
