United Airlines Holdings Inc. is moving ahead with plans to terminate close to 600 employees who didn’t meet its Covid-19 vaccination deadline, company officials said Tuesday.
United in August said it would require all of its 67,000 U.S. employees to be vaccinated—the first major U.S. airline and one of the first large U.S. companies to do so.

The precedent has been started. Now companies can fire you because you eat too many cheeseburgers, or drink too much beer, or smoke.
But you can bet your prayer rug they won’t fire anyone for smoking pot or practicing actions that increase the risk of aids,
Am I having a problem with math or is that 0.9% of their workforce?
But if you work for the USPS, you get a pass. I have real hatred for Biden and any democrat who voted for him.
So don’t fly, go bankrupt, FU.
And then hire illegals who don’t have to have the vaxx.
Customers should not accept excuses from the company while they try to get new-hires on line with their program. Zero tolerance with these totalitarian companies.
Airline exec.: There may be a young man on board the plane who can try to fly it.
2nd Exec. Over macho grande?
Right.
If they send some replacement Arab pilots who learned how to take off and fly in a flight school but then used an old public library book on how to land——refuse to get on the plane.
He sweats too much.
United is no longer my airline of preference.
Okay, then just ditch the plane into Lake Michigan where the crash will kill fewer people on the ground. Anything to show we can do without pilots who defy President Biden's Covid jab mandates.
Note to United employees: The vaxxed and unvaxxed need to stand shoulder to shoulder. This only works if United can divide you.
I do not believe that only 600 United employees are unvaccinated.
Gee, what ever happened to “Fly the friendly skies of United”?
I guess it doesn’t apply to their employees.
Everyone fired over not getting the vax should create the alternate economy.
How many Pilots ?
Ummm ... No. Smoking pot or taking other drugs or alcohol has always been a firing offense where I work. I have seen it first hand many times.
Also smoking is not allowed because of second hand smoke health issues with other people.
It’s kind of the same with Covid as you can give it to other people quickly but unlike smoking, the spread of the virus can eventually overload the hospitals creating a very serious public health issue.
No one is going to fire you for eating a cheeseburger or smoke after work but if your job requires you not to eat or smoke while working you could very well be disciplined.
I speak jive, if you need it!
Golly.
