Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley disregarded Sen. Tom Cotton's suggestion on Tuesday that he should resign due to the Afghanistan withdrawal debacle, according to Mediaite.
"As a senior military officer, resigning is a really serious thing," Milley said in a testimony before the Senate Armed Service Committee. "It's a political act if I'm resigning in protest. My statutory responsibility is to provide legal advice or the best military advice to the president. That's my legal requirement. That's what the law is. The president doesn't have to agree with that advice. He doesn't have to make those decisions just because we're generals."
The focus of the hearing centered around Milley and Gen. Frank McKenzie's advocation of a troop presence in Afghanistan. But advocation of a troop presence contradicts with what President Joe Biden said in an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, ...

As someone who has never earned any medal (or merit badge for all that matter) I do not feel in a position to say.
Onlythat that meme seems to point out a fundamental attitudinal difference between Ike and Milley.
“To me, he looks like the commanding general in a “Banana Republic,” proud but NOTHING to be proud of.”
Good call.
And it is true.
Pretty much.
For that alone, he joins the ranks of those who will never be able to walk 95% of the streets and towns of America without armed guards the rest of their stinking putrid lives.
Advising the Chinese is just a hobby.
You’re a deluded psychopath and sociopath lying pos milley and the whole world knows it.
How dare you defile your father’s service on Iwo Jima by comparing your munity and treason to his honourable service.
You are sick, disgusting
and I think you rate a blindfold, ciggerette and a wall.
Spit.
Milley,
My expert ribbons got me on an honour guard funeral rifle detail once,
But I’d trade that day of being privileged to that honour
to be on your firing squad detail any day of the week,
and I’d aim for where your balls should be.
Spit.
Delay the Army’s budget until he does.
Treason is still a death penalty offense Milley.
I differ with Gen. Milley on the matter of resignation. The time to do it was when Biden gave an order that he morally disagreed with. That is, you resign BEFORE not after the fact. Throw your stars on the president’s desk and call in your deputy so the question is put to him as well.
If Milley were to resign now it would have to be for different reasons — like avoiding a treason charge over that phone call to his Chinese opposite number.
His medals remind me of North Korean general. The only difference is Milley doesn’t have medals/ribbons on his pants leg.
Yes, but I am sure they withheld it in the face of credible death threats...from the FBI and other government agencies.
“ It’s a political act if I’m resigning in protest”
You would be resigning in disgrace because President Retard is too stupid to fire you. 🤪
There ya go shipmate.
“I’m not going to resign.”
That’s because he has no honor.
But then, we knew that.
Free Lt Col Scheller. Jail Milley for treason.
I think we may be finding out who’s really in charge in DC. Is it possible that we have a military dictatorship in place?
Milley is whom we called a fuckhead.* Nuff said!
*got to the head of the promotion list by magic...PFM, to be exact. Had the right education (Ivy league) not USMA or USNA or USAFA. Never exposed his lack of leadership skills in a combat role, avoiding combat.
I knew of another Air Force Wing Commander whom no one thought was qualified for the job. He was a Colonel, O6 and years later, he was a LT GEN, (3 stars) that addressed a graduating class at Air Command and Staff School, Montgomery, Alabama. A friend and graduate called me to tell that Col, XXXXXX was a 3 star! I fell off my chair!
This is an example of what can happen in the Military!
Not often, actually rare, but Milley is prime evidence of the tragic result of a huge mistake in judgement of character and honesty by promotion boards and CONGRESS who have to vote on Flag Officer promotions.
