As he centralizes more and more power into his own hands he becomes more and more a single point of failure. A successful assassination could leave China in chaos as the various factions vie for power.

A big thanks to US businessmen and bankers who enriched them helped them develop technology and become a world menace. Free traitors.

Western companies always had to toe the party line in China, but they are increasingly asked to do more, including sharing personal user data and accepting party members as employees. They could be pressed to sacrifice more profits to help Beijing achieve its goals.

Could??? If you are a US Corporation providing all of the technology and most of the capital in a China joint-venture where you can only own 49% of the common stock -- what happens when Xi orders that J-V corporation to "contribute"? That's right! It comes right off the corporate balance sheet and impact profitability and shareholder return.

Unfortunately for Xi the Chinese people today aren’t anything like the ones Mao had. Good luck forcing them to go back to living like they did in the 1950s and 60s.

  1. Will it be possible for private property to be abolished at one stroke?

No, no more than existing forces of production can at one stroke be multiplied to the extent necessary for the creation of a communal society.

In all probability, the proletarian revolution will transform existing society gradually and will be able to abolish private property only when the means of production are available in sufficient quantity.
— The Principles of Communism
Aw, why do these hardliners always ignore Engels and try to transform society all at once? </sarcasm>

Never mind the the fact that “communal society” is unnatural.

Xi is afraid on a personal level so he’s reaching for MORE CONTROL. That’s what happens when we feel things are spinnig out of control. It’s the wrong response.

Big mistake on Xi’s part.

Capitalism works - keeps the machinery of progress oiled. Bad things are happening all over the world. It’ll pass - always does. Xi needs to relax control. His people are smart and capable and will do what keeps their fiefdoms going - which is what keeps the country going.

I think that Xi will find the same lesson as Mikhail Gorbachev... you can’t give people a little freedom and expect them to be satisfied and not want more.

BTW, why did Skurkiss write “Xi Jin Ping” but not “Mao Ze Dong”? Should I write his name “Skur Kiss” too?

Most of the huge companies Zi is destroying are owned by his power competitor and their families. He has to destroy them and that is his main purpose. New corporations will rise, but they will owe their existence to Zi.
