Local officials have wide-latitude to enact questionable policies. The right to grow vegetables in one’s front yard is not enshrined in the Constitution.
Considering they may be placing the vax in lettuce and other foods and also who knows what, every community better make sure they can grow their own. Buying seeds (prepper packaged) right now may be the way to go.
A front yard garden.
Cosmetic issue - first thing I thought about.
No one wants to pay big money to live next door to a share cropper.
during the end times, i believe they are gonna outlaw self sufficiency and self reliance for things like gardens, raising beef, pork, chicken etc- in order to force everyone to a desperate point for food that they go begging to take the mark just for relief of starvation- The one world gov peeps will likely roam the countrysides looking for ‘illegal farms’, and destroy them-
They should’ve planted Marijuana and called it a grass garden.
The Villageis NOT America’s friendliest town
too much freedom going on here. might lead to free thinking. very dangerous.
Pretty sad that a law must be passed to protect VEGETABLE GARDENS that could be quite useful in the times ahead.
Homeowner’s associations are the smallest government units. As such, they often attract dictatorial personalities.
Courts issue opinions and legislatures create laws. Opinions don’t trump laws.
nobody wants the Mexicans next door to rip up their lawn and put in corn and throw in a few chickens because it reminds them of home.
Lots of townhome property have smallish backyards leaving the front to be best for the garden area.
The real question here is what constitutes an Article V “taking”. How much can municipalities infringe on your property rights or impair the value of your property via zoning laws without it being considered a “taking” under the constitution thus requiring them to pay you compensation for the impairment of your property.
The Supreme Court has ruled that the government can impair up to 90% of the value of your property via zoning laws without it being considered a “taking”. I think that’s ridiculous.
Good thing ours are in the back yard!
Since Government and HOA “think” they own your front yard as “Community property in common” then take them to court and make them pay the taxes on that portion of your property which has been rendered useless and nonfunctional.
Why should you have to pay the taxes on property they think belongs to them and not you? Enough do this, and the local authorities will think twice about assuming they can tell you what to do with your front yard.
“Fine I will comply, you pay the taxes then”.
“Whatever Happened to thinking globally and acting locally?”
That’s only for virtue-signalling Socialist Democrats, Silly! ;)
