WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) — New legislation mandating that girls register for the military draft is now one major step closer to implementation.
The requirement forcing young women between the ages of 18 and 26 to register for Selective Service now awaits only Senate reconciliation and the president’s signature after the U.S. House of Representatives voted Thursday night to pass a crucial national defense bill containing altered language forcing young women to be drafted alongside men in the event of future military conscription.
The $778 billion National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), was passed after 181 Democrats and 135 Republicans in the House voted to approve it.
Only 38 Democrats and 75 Republicans voted against the legislation.
The policy bill will now be punted back to the Senate for reconciliation with an earlier version of the legislative package already approved by the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC).
The SASC had voted 23-2 to approve its version of the bill in a closed-door session on July 21, just days after it was announced that language in the existing draft law had been modified to eliminate reference to “males” and instead require “All Americans” between the ages of 18 and 26 to sign up for Selective Service.
The full Senate is expected to consider the House’s approved version of the NDAA in October, after which the approved and reconciled act will be sent to the president’s desk to be signed into law.
Under the new language, failure of young women to register for Selective Service would make them subject to the same penalties as men, including fines of up to $250,000 or imprisonment for up to five years.
Republican members of the House Freedom Caucus held a press conference Wednesday to slam the provision that would require young women to register for the draft.

Was hoping Trump would lead the way on this but he is still trying to salvage a lost cause. But if your sticking to your Republican rep best vet them closely.
And if you think it is a good idea for women to be drafted then look in the mirror for you will find you have joined the Modernist religion as well. Where morality and ethics are dictated by you, the new god of our culture.
That’s good for 2022, if Republicans would only use that when talking to young women.
Well, there’s nothing new about this god; they’re just children of the devil.
when I was a young man in my 20s I would of said it was a good Idea. today at 55 I say it is a bad idea. combat is a mans world putting women in that world is a mistake. I believe this to the point where I don’t think women should be allowed to serve in any direct combat roles. I find it weird to say the older I get the more sexist I am and the more I value traditional roles for men and women. I think that the idea of drafting young women is highly destructive to the welfare of the United States.
Draftees are crap soldiers, imagine how bad a pink haired draftee like the abrasive Soccer player would be. Imagine having to serve next to that in a hotzone. No thanks if I can’t have a good ole country boy who has been shooting since they could hold a gun up and have to take a progressive I’d rather have a don’t ask don’t tell volunteer than a forced gen Z “female” next to my foxhole.
The Marines would have never surrendered to the Iranians had there not been a woman abard. I honestlt discussed this with many, mant spec ops troops while I served. It is a a path to defeat, no matter how exceptional the individual female is. Their instinct compels them to protect wife, mom, sister, etc. Even the most exceptiinal female is a physiological and psychological problem.
This smells of China war gaming.

You got that right
They hit me hard this year, especially earlier
I recognized it but they were especially brutal
People don’t usually recognize what it truly is
There hasn’t been a draft in almost 50 years, and there won’t be one in the lifetime of any American alive today.
If we ever have a draft again, I agree with you on not allowing women into direct combat.
But for every man with a weapon in Indian country, there are 10 or 15 people, in uniform, to support him. Some of these support people may get into combat, but many will never hear the sound of gun fire in their tours of duty.
Drafting women to fill the support functions necessary in the modern Army makes reasonably good sense to me. This frees up man power to feed into battle.
There is no need for the Selective Service. Saying it’s from “Both sides” is a failure to acknowledge that the uniparty is in charge. We can’t even get rid of one vestigial bureaucracy.
if the women drafted were not in combat roles. I would not like it but would not fight against it war is war and a draft means an emergency situation I hope.
And yeah, there's still time to stop them....
agree fully
Step two - 'elites' say 'not their daughters'
Compromise: Bring in third world illegals to serve (willing to shoot American citizens) in exchange for citizenship.
Final result: Corrupt Pentagon rules over a thug army of mercenaries to protect the power of white liberal 'elites'...(and later to stop citizen from attempting to escape the hellhole once known as the Untied States).
Similar to North Korea's kill zone... and East Germany's Wall...
And yeah, there's still time to stop them....
Can the 135 Republicans be identified? I would bet they are the same Republicans that voted in secret to keep Liz Cheney in leadership.
I stand by my original comment. Voting either way on these changes in the military draft in the U.S. is pointless and stupid. It's like voting to permit or prohibit concealed firearms in the Alpha Centauri star system.
Too many Americans don’t understand the next war. There are 1.5 billion Chinese and 300 million Americans. Every citizen who can fight will need to.
2 sexes down, 37 to go.
your force ratio post is silly. our tongue chewing future will be agony.
You mean the whole "elect Republicans" idiocy?
