I think they dream of “land reform” like you see after some sort of Central America revolution. Or, of course, in Zimbabwe or South Africa.
That is the plan. Land confiscation.
Followed by the inevitable collapse of production wherever they did that.
But the grantees will sell out to the big land grabbers (Gates, etc) and run with the cash. Which of course they will lose over a few years, and be back complaining that they got no money and no land, and somebody owes them.
As long as the Constitution still means more than the paper it’s written on, the government will have a difficult time with ‘land reform’. There is still the ‘takings Clause’. The Government must pay fair market value.
Last month an 80 acre plot in Iowa broke the price record by $300/acre of $22,600/acre. (It did have a wind turbine that the last plot did not) Have at it!
