How to defend yourself and your rights while eating in a (public) food court. I recommend my American AND Canadian friends to watch this video. The people who are sitting at the table KNOW their rights and exercise them - in the face of the security guards and police who were sent to remove them from the premises. They successfully stood their ground and were LEFT ALONE by the police and security guards after both were read the rights of those at the table to eat there. MUST-SEE. (The video was taken in a food court here in Toronto and is a little over 26 minutes long, but SO MUCH can be learned from the people in video exercising their rights.)
For what reason were they supposes to be removed?
Eating without a vaccine passport.
No Instagram account. Can’t view video. What happened?
Sounds like the same kind of people running Australia.
Oh yeah it is.
I guess.
They're Canadians, they likely have some idea of Canadian law.
How to defend yourself and your rights while eating in a (public) food court (in Toronto, Canada).
I hardly ever eat anything in Toronto Canada.
“ I recommend my American AND Canadian friends to watch this video”
We elected a conservative state governor who outlawed this crap.
I despise how eager the pigs are to trespass these people.
Do you have to have Instagram to watch it?
No. But the video isn’t playing very well (for me at least). It is continually caching and stuttering. The woman in the video is doing a great job however and I’m sticking with it ;’}
Curious that she conveniently whipped out a printed page highlighting her rights.....
Obviously they went in there with more than just the idea of getting a bite to eat.
The police officers were polite and did not hassle you. Why do you call them “pigs”?
Or they’ve had it happen to them before, and kept a copy of the necessary laws on hand so they could eat in relative peace.
My understanding enforcement will start off as education and outreach. If people continue to ignore the law the regulated authorities will increase the enforcement.
If these people are truly conservative, they would follow the rules of law and meet the new rules regulation that are temporary in nature. It’s not that tough and it allows the food courts in malls to continue to be open.
One more freedom tehy want to take away.
These rules are not likely to be temporary.
No, conservative does not mean whatever authoritarian government dreams that we have to comply with. And you childishly accept the premise of the authoritarian by saying these rules “allow” us to have our freedom. These rules “allow“ the food court to be open.
Conservative does not mean subservient bit@h.
If anything, conservative is slow careful changes to society. We have experienced a complete authoritarian takeover in the last 18 months. “Conservative“ says let’s go back to 2019 at a minimum.
I don’t have one either, but it works for me.
“t is continually caching and stuttering”
That’s your connection.
Cool, thank you.
