Oh wait, that’s only for Shoplifting. Those Toll Road Thieves are a different breed and should be punished for their Crimes against Big Toll Road.
And our roads suck, and our gas tax is second only to Cali.
Why are tolls still being collected on a road built nearly 70 years ago?
Here in Ontario, we have the toll highway 407 which acts as a bypass of Toronto. You do not have to go through the traffic on the 401 or Don Valley Parkway (Don Valley Parking Lot). It is about $20 CAD to go from Highway 400 to Highway 412 (basically avoiding Toronto). I wonder how that (about 44 cents per km) compares to what they charge on the PA Turnpike.
They could always get the same treatment Sonny got at the Jones Beach Causeway toll booth…
So 500 human toll collectors lost their jobs.
Their problem used to be keeping up with baking the warm Toll House cookies for drivers. Chocolate chip or butterscotch, both good.

The law of diminishing returns sets in very quickly. The last 7 percent collocations may cost the 7 percent, so you net zero.

I would like to see the demographics on toll violators.
I registered my license plate number with the PA Toll Road Authority as I don’t have an EZ pass account and rarely use toll roads other than the PA Turnpike. The toll boot camera takes a photo of my license plate, I get an e-mail telling me the tolls for the month and then my credit card is charged for them, instead of me sending in a check.
Most expensive per mile and the bathrooms are dirty with inoperable sinks and soap dispensers. Typical government efficiency.
Slick Eddie Rendell tried to privatize the Turnpike system.
He is a crook. His buddies wanted to take it over and install EZ Pass to increase profitability.
Crucifixion was considered, but taken off the table for now, unless the current recommendations fail.

We avoid the turnpike whenever possible, but it’s not always possible. Corrupt system…
Well, good luck collecting. In the end, the politicians will decide that the policy is racist. I’ll leave it at that.

Back in the day when I used to ride motorcycles to work and generally just about everywhere, there were toll roads with the basket you threw your money in and if you’re on a motorcycle it’s kind of hard to dig in your pockets for change but when you pull up to the basket just a quick look on the ground there were always coins there to pick one up throw it in and off you go...
