"My fear is that folks took an 18-month break and they were on the couch the whole time and now they’re forced to go back into the labor market and it 'sucks' and they 'just want to get paid' and I fear they’re not going to want to do the actual physical job of working," This is real and watch for "Florida Man" style stories of customer/employee interactions.

Don’t hire any of them. Were probably Antifa/ BLM rioters who tried to burn your business down.
Hire from OUTSIDE the area.......................

He nailed it. If I were a business owner, I’d be wary as hell of those layabouts seeking work after sitting on their asses for so long. Who wants to take on a worthless layabout?

Easy to explain the 18 month gap: “Pelosi told me I could write poetry after she passed Obamacare.”

How many are being turned away because they don’t have the right vaxx papers to work? Do those pampered Portland Antifa anarchists follow every gubmint decree, like the vaxx mandate?

My son’s pizza parlor shut down completely for several months as did most of the resturants in the area. He was unemployed for about 10 weeks. He could not wait to get back to work.
His resturant has had to close on Mondays for lack of staff.
However, he is getting about 10 hours a week overtime and could not be happier!

Millions of people are in for a Rude Awakening on just how the last 18 months impacts thier future employment opportunities.

I suspect we’ll see a concomitant rise in restaurant borne salmonella.

Not only that but I’m betting most were living large and running up debt based on the extra shekels. I predict lots of work for the repo man shortly.

Millions of people are in for a Rude Awakening on just how the last 18 months impacts thier future employment opportunities. Every business in my town, Fort Walton Beach FL, has a help wanted sign in the window. They might not like that an applicant has an 18 month gap in their resume, but if they need employees then that's who they're going to have to hire.
It's a job seeker's market right now. Any business owner that seeks to punish a potential employee for having a gap in employment is going to find themselves out of business soon. Beggars can't be choosers.

Well, if they don’t want to work, you can now fire their lazy butts, and hire another person. When mommy government doesn’t give you freebies, you gotta work.

It's been one week since federal pandemic unemployment benefits ended. In the days following, restaurants across Portland tell KATU News they saw a spike in people looking for work. It's magical! Stop sending money to people and people will go out looking for money!
