Michigan Hospital System Says Workers With COVID-19 Natural Immunity Don’t Need Vaccine
Epoch Times ^ | 09/13/2021

“While we still recommend vaccination for people with prior COVID-19 infection, according to this new research, there is increasing evidence that natural infection affords protection from COVID-19 reinfection and severe symptoms for a period of time,” Spectrum said in a statement, according to local media. “Current studies are not clear on how long natural immunity protects from reinfection.”

Under the hospital policy, workers will have to submit to an antibody test to prove they’re immune.

Natural immunity, meaning that a person has contracted COVID-19 and recovered, is rarely discussed in national conversations about vaccines, although some studies have shown that individuals who were previously infected have displayed significant resistance to the virus.

Researchers in Israel found that previous infection has provided better protection to individuals against the Delta variant than the Pfizer mRNA vaccine.

“This analysis demonstrated that natural immunity affords longer-lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease, and hospitalization due to the Delta variant,” researchers from Maccabi Healthcare and Tel Aviv University said.

On Sept. 11, Biden administration COVID-19 advisor Anthony Fauci said that another, new study from Israel regarding natural immunity has triggered discussion among experts.

“I don’t have a really firm answer for you on that,” Fauci responded to a question about whether individuals who were previously infected should get the vaccine.

Natural immunity = vaccine not needed. Common sense prevails in at least this place.

How does anyone know if they have natural immunity or not?

I got my antibody test in August.
My number on the test was 308.
Not sure what that number means, but I do have natural immunity.

RE: My number on the test was 308. Not sure what that number means,

It is the responsibility of your doctor to explain to you what the number means. You need to ask him. It’s his job to tell you.

It is yet to be demonstrated that people who have had an actual illness from COVID-19 and recovered are actually susceptible to a second infection from COVID-19 or its current known variants. Once the immune system has dealt with an infection, it has detectable antibodies that persist for a while. But even if those antibodies become “undetectable” over time, the immune system is still programmed to mount an almost immediate protective response if that individual were to come in contact with that pathogen.

The problem is the variants. So far previously infected people have not been susceptible to the variants. It is possible that a new distinct variant will evolve that evades this “natural” immunity. Also there is some concern that immuno comprimised people if they somehow survived an initial infection with COVID-19 may be susceptible to a second infection. However such infectious variants have not yet been documented to sicken previously infected people or making them carriers that can transmit to others.

Sadly thecommissars now have undue influence at CDC, NIH and within Academia. The data is being filtered through a political prism.

Get an antibody test. I had Covid in January, and last month I got tested for antibodies. Fifty-five times the minimum value they look for. Had it done at Labcorp for $10.

The natural immunity conferred by having contracted the Chinese virus and recovered should last decades. Antibody testing is a short term thing, it won’t necessarily show the antibodies for more than a few months. I think they have to test for certain T and B cells or somesuch. This is the body “memory” of the specific virus, and is ready in reserve should it be exposed again down the road.

Why they are playing these games is inexplicable. If someone has natural immunity, it is not necessarily a good idea at all to take that particular vaccine. Why take the chance? The Chinese virus can really screw people up, but then, so can the vaccine.

Any variant is 99.999 percent less deadly. This over an already 99.97 recovery rate.

Sheer lunacy, or worse.

I went through LabCorp.com. I arranged it sans a regular doctor. It was easy enough to setup. It only cost $10 to get a doctor referral through them. Then they will send the rest of the bill to my insurance. If it’s not covered by insurance, the most I will pay is $47.

I don’t mean to pry, but wondering if you had COVID?

I have read/heard that some immunity can also be conferred from other bouts one has had with a Coronavirus.

Right - my regular doctor was spouting off the party line recently; that HCQ could kill you. He flinched when I explained that was a lie by the Lancet, later they were forced to withdraw the debunked article. Then he tries to tell me natural immunity might run out quickly.

"Really, Doctor?" I replied. "For the first time in history? I'd like to see the evidence of that. I'm sure you would, too." He got a panicked look.

He's been a good doctor up to now and a friend, it's hard to know what to think these days. I wonder how I can even find a good local doctor.

Yes, I had it in January. Also, I was feeling pretty crappy at the beginning of May and July for relatively short times. Could I have had a variant either of those times? Not sure.
