Reports Of Vaccinated Breakthrough Cases/Hospitalizations/Deaths Are On The Rise - Sharply

A sampling of stories from around the country, and world.

When looking at stories, or data, keep in mind the timeframe. Is the data they are sharing/reporting regarding the entire vaccination timeline (from Dec), when there were far fewer variants and far fewer participating in the experimental injections? Or, is it what's happening recently, in the last month or so with a growing pool of variants and participants in the experiments?

It's becoming clear that whatever effectiveness the injections may have, it wanes over a few short months and is far less effective against the current majority Delta variant. Thus the need for 3 and even 4 injections.

If nothing else, just look at the stories from Whatcom County WA below for the 3 periods of time:
February through June (5 months) = 98 cases,
Month of July alone = 95 cases,
Aug. 22 and 28 week only = 187 cases.

That's a significant, clear uptrend of breakthrough cases, the graph of which would look more like this:

Than this

Or this:

Color me shocked that a typical left-wing rag does pretty good "call it right down the middle" reporting here.

Perhaps it's the "even a broken clock is right twice a day" saying...

FDA experts among group opposing US booster shot plan
By LAURAN NEERGAARD and MATTHEW PERRONE

The average person doesn’t need a COVID-19 booster yet, an international group of scientists — including two top U.S. regulators — wrote Monday in a scientific journal.

The experts reviewed studies of the vaccines’ performance and concluded the shots are working well despite the extra-contagious delta variant, especially against severe disease.

“Even in populations with fairly high vaccination rates, the unvaccinated are still the major drivers of transmission” at this stage of the pandemic, they concluded.

The opinion piece, published in The Lancet, illustrates the intense scientific debate about who needs booster doses and when, a decision the U.S. and other countries are grappling with.

After revelations of political meddling in the Trump administration’s coronavirus response, President Joe Biden has promised to “follow the science.” But the review raises the question of whether his administration is moving faster than the experts.

These are statistics of the ones that go to the hospital. How many more have mild, or no symptoms that never end up going to a hospital or even a doctor?

Why would you allow yourself to be hospitalized over MILD or ASYMPTOMATIC symptoms?

I would only go to a hospital if I truly thought I would die otherwise.

My point is these are partial statistics representing the numbers who have gotten Covid AND gone to the hospital. It would be interesting to know how many have gotten Covid.

They seem to say people with mild (and moderate) COVID are hospitalized for other reasons such as surgery, etc.

Dying in a hospital doesn’t seem all that appetizing to me. I’d rather die at home.

Exactly where my husband and I are right now. Came down with covid last week, we are both vaxxed (hubs with Moderna in Feb, me with Pfizer in March) and it's been no more than a rather annoying bad cold/flu. Starting to get taste and smell back in the last day or so.

I think this is a set up. When the vaccinated start showing up in droves to the hospital, they’ll say admissions aren’t a valid measure of anything.

I have a question: what was the first symptom you noticed?

Honestly, I thought it was a sinus infection at first as I'm prone to them. Hubs tested positive on Tues, I started feeling off Wed, the loss of smell/taste even though I could breathe normallly through my nose was my indication it was something different. This weekend sucked, but other than a lingering cough we're already on the mend.
