Former President Donald Trump visited with police officers and firefighters in New York City on Saturday and questioned why President Joe Biden decided not to deliver a speech to recognize the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
“Biden didn’t even speak today! He went to all three places and he didn’t speak,” Trump said. “I wonder why he didn’t speak”:
The former president visited the precinct to thank officers for their service, spending much time criticizing Biden’s disastrous exit from Afghanistan.
“He turned victory into a total embarrassment; I say the most embarrassing moment in the history of our country,” Trump said.
The former president said he watched some of the other speeches from 9/11 but noted that no one was talking about Biden’s failure.
“They’re trying to do speeches without mentioning what happened over the last two weeks, and that’s a very hard thing to do,” Trump said.
He accused Biden of surrendering to the Taliban in the war for political reasons.
“I think he wanted to run because he wanted to look good today,” he said, pointing to the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

You know it. I read that in NYC, only a few hundred mostly LE people, obviously under strict orders to stand still and notdo anything, were near the stage or podium, and the crowd was at quite some distance behind them and fenced off by a solid row of police (with shields, I believe).
I think they were worried about more than booing.
Also, from the photos I saw, it looks like Biden came out tucked in the middle between Harris, Clinton, and Obama - you can barely see him.

I wonder if some of the hackling he has gotten recently in the chance at sports stadiums factored into this decision by his handlers. It is very odd the sitting US president would not publicly speak on the anniversary of 911. To the best of my knowledge for the last 19 years they have always made a speech.
Bush did today, at least any of them that are conservative.
