18 breakthrough deaths were reported last week
More than 4,000 fully vaccinated people in Massachusetts tested positive for the coronavirus last week, a daily average of more than 600 people as breakthrough infections continue to rise each week amid the delta variant.
The rate of breakthrough infections week-over-week starting five weeks ago surged 64%, then the following week went up 20%, the next week jumped by 25%, the subsequent week increased by 20%, and in the last week climbed by 23%.
Breakthrough cases in Massachusetts are making up about one-third of the state’s overall cases. People who are unvaccinated are at a higher risk for infection and a severe case.
Overall, 23,858 fully vaxxed people have tested positive for the virus, according to new data from the state Department of Public Health on Tuesday. That’s 0.53% of the more than 4.5 million fully vaxxed people in Massachusetts.
The nearly 24,000 overall cases is an increase of 4,415 breakthrough infections from last week — or a daily average of 631 fully vaccinated people testing positive.
Last Tuesday’s report showed a rise of 3,704 breakthrough cases, a daily average of 529 fully vaxxed people testing positive.
The previous week was a jump of 3,098 infections, a daily average of 443 fully vaxxed people.
The prior week was a jump of 2,672 infections, a daily average of 382 infections.
The week before that was a rise of 2,232 breakthroughs, a daily average of 319 infections.
Breakthrough hospitalizations account for about 25% of current COVID-19 hospitalizations. Those who are unvaccinated are at a much higher risk for a severe case and hospitalization.
There have been 762 hospitalizations among fully vaccinated people in Massachusetts, which is 0.02% of those who are fully vaxxed.
The 762 total patients is a one-week increase of 111 fully vaxxed patients. The previous weekly increase was 80 fully vaxxed patients.
The state has reported 162 breakthrough deaths, or 0.004% of those who are fully vaxxed. That’s a one-week increase of 18 deaths. The previous weekly increase was 13 deaths, and the week before that was seven deaths.
Agreed but thats not how they sold it, it was the savior of the human race. This was before the unsavory data about the vax came to light, but even now they cant stop gaslighting. In addition to the mediocre efficacy of a flu vaccine, there is the fact that it is not mandated and less than 50 percent of adults receive it on average yearly, which means alot of folks will have natural immunity and this in combination with the leaky flu vaccine will lead to herd immunity, the same formula needed for covid to abate. Overvaccination is leading to less than stellar immunity in lots of folks. The insistence on ignoring natural immunity by policy makers is also prolonging the pain for the general public.

The “vaccines” aren’t truly vaccines. Thus, their protection is either limited or non-existent or makes the “vaccinated” person subject to additional illnesses or death.
The “vaccinated” cousin of my daughter’s husband...cousin was 36, had diabetes, physically fit and active...became seriously ill within days of receiving the vaccination shot. Died in the guestroom bed at our daughter’s home.
These are not vaccines. They have not really been scientifically vetted. Frequently there are adverse side effects, including death. And no one knows the long term effects on the human body. Caveat emptor.

Ah ha! “Cases”. IMHO, this is a meaningless statistic. In a regular flu season, if you’d routinely REPEATEDLY test healthy vaccinated people for flu virus RNA/DNA fragments a percentage would inevitably “test positive”.
I guess my questions are how many were hospitalized and how many died?
We already know that the notavax doesn’t protect the jabbed from infection, but that it is supposed to mitigate the severity of the symptoms. I have seen some numbers on FR that seem to support this. So how many were hospitalized and how many died?
What exactly is the problem? Under the Trump administration we were told that the shots will not keep one from getting the virus, it keeps one from becoming very ill and needing hospitalization and dying from the virus.

You do know that if there was anything really wrong about the vaccine (and deep down inside they are hoping) that’s going to be the tool the media will use against Donald Trump. This vaccine was funded and created under the Trump Administration - a Republican White House.
So, if something goes bad with the vaccines the democrats including their media will blame it on the administration under which it came.
If all continues to go well with the vaccine, Joe Biden and the media will give THIS White House the credit for the vaccine because you already are giving it to him.

The Biden administration is hoping for the Supreme Court to shoot down his vaccine mandate (likley why he exempts USPS). He’s looking to convince Americans that he needs to stuff the court.
COVID (the COVID scare, that is) is not going away until after the next Presidential election. The democrats need a repeat of 2020 to win. There is NO way there is going to be an announcement before the next election proclaiming that we are no longer in a pandemic.
The real enemy is NOT the vaccine. That’s individual choice and what conservatives stand for. The enemy is a government MANDATE.

These shots are not vaccines.
They are experimental mRNA therapies and no one should be required to inject experimental substances.
1)Being vaccinated does not appear to reduce your chance of getting infected.
The Herald reports that “Breakthrough cases in Massachusetts are making up about one-third of the state’s overall cases.” That is exactly the same percentage (33%) of Massachusetts residents who are not fully vaccinated according to Covidactnow.com
2) Being vaccinated DOES appear to significantly reduce your chance of dying by about 75%.
The Herald reports that last week there were 18 deaths of fully vaccinated people. There were 60 total COVID deaths in Massachusetts according to Worldometer.com. Thus 42 unvaccinated people died. If the vaccines were ineffective in preventing death, one would have expected 84 vaccinated people to have died, instead of the 18 reported.

You are dead on correct with your assessment of these “vaccines.” My wife and I will probably be fired from our jobs for not taking the jab. We will use retirement funds to pay off remaining mortgage and take jobs at lesser pay and get by.
I have been a live and let live guy where the jab is concerned up to this point I may disagree with the vax but you taking or not taking is your choice. I had to cut out the mumble-jumble in this report to get to the meat.
Namely, it appears the vaccines are not as effective in preventing infection as the jabbers have been touting.
And this is only for the vaxxed people who got tested last week in MA.
How many fully vaxxed people were infected last week, but did not get tested?????

You make a good point. The problem, as I see things, is that the vaxxed folks thought they would be immune from any future covid bugs and returned to their pre-2020 lifestyle.
As a side comment, I wonder if there is any correlation between the people who have religiously taken a flu shot over the past decades and whether they got covid and how severe it was.
It seems we are learning that vaccine dependency can become a issue.
