Most adult Americans have choices, the issue is where one's priorities are.
Public schools are the way they are mainly because millions of American parents chose to let someone else do the job of caring for their kids.
That's why so many parents were shocked to find what was being taught to their kids during "distant learning", they had no idea because they chose not to know.
The victims here are the children, not the parents.

This country, including the school system, is where it is because we citizens have trusted that elected and unelected officials are honest public servants.
We truly have been asleep at the wheel and every institution and government body has been infiltrated. This has been going on for a long time and won’t be remedied over night.
My husband and I chose to be involved and knowledgeable about our kids education. I stayed home and closely watched everything. When they were in elementary school, I was in their classes every day and participated in all their activities. I saw this liberal crap thirty years ago and counteracted it, but left them in school as I couldn’t teach advanced math and science.
There is no one size fits all approach here. Parents are awakened to what is going on. Those who can homeschool should but those who can’t must continue to fight and not get discouraged or lose interest if the first few battles are not won.
