I’m old enough to remember when this teacher would have been arrested for contributing to the delinquency of minors.
“I’m bisexual” is just a polite way of saying “I’ll **** anything with a pulse, and a few things without.”
When I was a seventh grader, I knew nothing about the private lives of my teachers. Didn’t want to know, either. Not sure why this teacher felt obliged to share details about his personal life with students, but it’s not appropriate.
I will say this without any guilt or apology. The taliban are starting to look sane.

Students should not have a say in adult decisions they are not in the positions or responsibility for. Walking out should bring with it consequences on the students.

In my 7th grade the boys were all excited about an attractive female teacher who sat on her desk teaching.....they were busy waiting for a glimpse! LOL

I’m quite sure that there are plenty of folks, born and raised in Iowa, that are gay or bisexual. Not an issue. You like the same sex or both, not my business or anyone else’s, until you make it mine or their business.
Colleges/universities all over the place are overrun, FUBAR in my opinion, with radical Leftist professors and administrators knowing that once tenure is established it’s game on and they can do/say what they want.
Iowa & Iowa St are no different even though both schools are in the heartland of what some could call, Conservative America, and most of the kids come from that very same Conservative Heartland.
That being said, like so many other states, in their push to attract the “tech industry” because as we all know, the “tech industry” is the ONLY industry a state or city can have that will bring in money and tax revenue. For without the computer folks, all is lost.
Des Moines has seen its fair share of Left-wing, liberal hipster implants as it has grown. Seems to be more and more stories about teachers in Iowa doing stuff like this. Liberals, whether on orders or desire, will flock together and draw each other.

This country would be a much better place if all of them could be identified and corralled into a select, few cities and leave the rest of us alone.

School is not the place for such declarations. How about telling the kids what you do in bed or the kitchen counter? Miss the days school was about the 3Rs.
Imagine the outrage if a teacher came out to his students that he’s straight, conservative and Christian.
