MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough on Wednesday questioned if the court system would really penalize a 16-year-old rape victim in Texas who chose to get an abortion.
Scarborough warned of the “precedent” set by the new Texas abortion law which was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court. He said it would be “so heinous” if the law were to be enforced on a rape victim.

Does anyone know how many actual rapes result in pregnancy? And, if someone is the victim of rape I would assume they would get a pregnancy test and know if they were pregnant before the 6th week! So much pearl-clutching. (I do think legitimate victims of rape should be able to terminate a pregnancy.)
Joe Scarborough: Since the baby is the innocent victim, let’s kill it.
And what percentage do 16 y/o rape victims account for in abortions?
This fraudulent argument has no weight
A. They can still go to a different state and get an abortion
B. Using because .0001 of the possible cases to argue that all the cases should be allowed is intellectually infantile.
C. Appeal to use emotion over reason. That is an automatic fail.
P.S. Lori Klausutis never had an abortion.
Well, I guess Joe knows first hand that there are other ways of making these sticky situations go away.
Abortion is murder. And you shouldn’t commit murder even if you have “a really good reason”.
Joe’s having fantasies again….
I don't want to hijack this thread but why should a 100% innocent victim pay the ultimate price?
The Left is hyperbolic over abortion.
They can, as long as it is in the 1st 6 weeks. It should not require 6 weeks for a rape victim to make up their mind.
Media studiously ignores the fact that rape and incest victims all have 6 weeks to take an abortion pill or go to a planned Parenthood baby chop shop and body parts retailer.
What’s the morning after pill for? Don’t they hand those out in the hospital?
He’s an idiot, and ignorant of TX law.
The person getting the abortion is not penalized.
The doctor who does the abortion is.
Skeptical non-viewer: If anyone ever reported a sensible Scarborough pronouncement, we could be sure it was a repeat of something from a person with real synapses.
He’s not actually ignorant. He’s lying.
The people who get the abortion are not subject to liability under the Texas law.
The 16 year old is not innocent.
The baby is.
