Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau was hit by some gravel Monday while boarding a campaign bus in London, Ont.

As Trudeau went to get on the bus, which was surrounded by angry protesters, small objects could be seen thrown in his direction. A masked Trudeau looked startled before he went into the vehicle.

Trudeau later confirmed to reporters on the campaign plane that he was hit by gravel but said he is okay. He compared the incident to when pumpkin seeds were thrown at him.

Trudeau's campaign has been the target of protests before, one of which led the campaign to cancel a planned rally.

Any Canadian Freepers out there willing to predict the outcome?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It will be a totally fractured outcome. In 2019, Trudeau took 46% of the seats with slightly less than 1/3 of the vote…. that sort of outcome will be repeated this time. The Conservatives are doing everything they can to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory… O’Toole has been accused of being liberal lite for quite a while and the evidence is painfully obvious. Essentially, what he is saying is “yeah, we have the same approach and policies as the Liberals but we would roll it out better.” All one has to do is look at O’Toole’s recent announcements on guns and vaccine passports to realize that…
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-conservative-leader-erin-otoole-promises-national-proof-of-vaccine/
I talked to a friend in Kitchener, a decent sized town about an hour west of Toronto. This is the riding where the Liberal candidate just resigned due to some past sexual harassment allegations… https://globalnews.ca/news/8167914/liberal-raj-saini-drops-out-canada-election/ My friend says that in his neighbourhood, it absolutely flooded with signs for the Green candidate and he thinks the fellow will win. He is probably right although the candidate might be the only Green in the country.
The only leader worth listening to is Maxime Bernier of the PPC… unfortunately, he will be lucky to even get his own seat. Such is the nature of a ‘fringe party’.... problem is that whatever votes PPC take will all come from the Conservatives. That was already evident in 2019 when numerous Conservative candidates lost by substantially less than the number of votes the PPC candidate took.
One bit of history… in almost every case (federal or provincial) where the party in power has called an early election, the voters punished them hard for doing it.
I smell provocateurs and January 6th false flags.
RCMP informants on the loose at Trudeau rallies?
The Conservative Party leader Erin O’Toole denounced what happened as “disgusting”
When it comes to liberty from vaxx mandates and passports I guess Erin O’ Toole is:
“Erin No Toole”
More Canadians than ever in the polls moving towards the People’s Party of Canada.
Its leader Maxime Bernier arrested in Manitoba earlier this year for holding a rally violating the COVID lockdown.
RE: Pumpkin seeds have escalated to gravel.
What’s next? Lava rocks?///////////
Police are routinely hit by dangerous bricks and rocks that break bones. Then either “no arrests” or “none of the protestors in the earlier incidents will serve jail time.”
Bob Dylan 1962 version of the bluesman Peg Leg Howell’s 1928 song (already a traditional work song by then)
Rocks and Gravel
Takes rocks and gravel, baby, make a solid road
Make a solid road
Takes rocks and gravel, baby, make a solid road
Make a solid road
Takes a good woman, mama
To satisfy my weary soul
Big talk from behind a keyboard.
Correct, my ball peen hammer comment was bigly hilarious.
It costs you nothing.
Correct.
It costs FR and other FReepers.
Providing great humor on a daily basis to FR - no charge. Watching your panties bunch and twist - priceless.
This is Canada. Snowballs.
Better hurry. They claim Canada is actually a four season country.
Winter, Winter, Winter and July.
September is pushing it.
Good posts.
I agree about leeway. I only hit the Report Abuse link for the most egregious violations of FR rules.
There’s a lot of anger out there. I get that. Unfocused anger is not as powerful as focused anger in pursuit of a greater good. Just MO.
Re: Trudeau. Having spent about 3 wks/year in Canada prior to COVID-19, most of the Canadians think Trudeau is where he by virtue of his father and dreams by Quebecers of further cementing their distinct society from being diminished.
I will also say that overwhelmingly in Eastern Canada, the Canadians I talked with are enthralled with the Obamas. I don’t understand it. Multiple people said they wanted Michelle Obama to run for President. I don’t understand that either.
As a rule, the Canadians I talk with are very polite. Don’t quite understand their politics. They speak very highly of the health care system (urgent care and ER service). But things like hip and knee surgeries and CAT/PET/MRI scans - you re going to wait - every person I talked with either preferred going to the US or did to have their surgery or scans.
I don’t know if Trudeau wins. Maybe there will be a hung Parliament (okay, “minority government” is the better term in Canada). Certainly could not hurt.
In Ontario, I will predict that Doug Ford is toast. Will he even carry his riding?
I'm not sure you would know specifically about that - unless you were peeking in my window.
He's very fortunate.
It could have been a HUGE rock slide that totally engulfed the bus.
I thought at the beginning it will likely see him reelected but without a majority which was the whole purpose of calling the election. So basically no change and thus making the whole exercise pointless. There is a small chance the conservatives might win. They did have more total votes last time but poorly distributed so the Libs got more seats. They are btw leading in the current polls. Only good if the votes this time are spread around better. The poll numbers have the conservatives at about 35 or so. If they can get close to 40% that might be enough to beat Turdough.
