Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau was hit by some gravel Monday while boarding a campaign bus in London, Ont.
As Trudeau went to get on the bus, which was surrounded by angry protesters, small objects could be seen thrown in his direction. A masked Trudeau looked startled before he went into the vehicle.
Trudeau later confirmed to reporters on the campaign plane that he was hit by gravel but said he is okay. He compared the incident to when pumpkin seeds were thrown at him.
Trudeau's campaign has been the target of protests before, one of which led the campaign to cancel a planned rally.

That’s a fair point. Instances of racism and anti-Semitism also show up here now and again. That should be no surprise. Free Republic, like any group anywhere, mirrors society as a whole. You’ll get all types.
There can be no excuse for obviously racist or anti-Semitic comments. But here’s the thing. Americans are, in general, a blunt people when it comes to politics. So perhaps a bit of leeway should be given there. And for egregious cases, hit that Abuse button and let JimRob decide.

I had a relative that was a heavy in the W Bush campaigns.
When I mentioned FR, it was like the bright lights came on and I was up against the wall!
More than a few in-depth questions about my participation in a smallish website (the early 2000s).
They were always very tight with operational details but open in a broad sense.
Among other things, I learned that volunteers (20 years back) started by sending letters to news outlets, the more published, the better chance of moving up in the organization.
Today it is digital letters/postings.
Stir the pot and maybe receive an attaboy.
Not always negative.
With past elections, I received numerous replies/mail all positive comments and helpful news.
Not one more after the election???
Not everyone here is what they seem.
I will give you that. It’s a new certainty that a couple of FBI agents have been tasked solely to us.
And I do not put it past them to run violent thoughts up the flagpole sometimes just to see who salutes.

I apparently care more about the survival of FR than you and your cohort. This is THE bastion of conservative grass roots.
Again, looking more and more like some FReepers are intentionally making posts about violence and overthrow to try and get FR shut down.
There’s a few who suspiciously joined around the same date and time that seem to enjoy stirring up a toxic environment.
And I am surprised they have not been booted yet. Or at least reminded of the rules of civility I thought we tried to maintain here.

Nobody here is advocating violence. They are reading an article where some people in Canada have had enough of the tyranny and police state of Justin Trudeau
Tyrants can expect”fury” from the population when violence and imprisonment are imposed on them for something that was not their fault.
Trudeau has asked for what he gets and I hope he gets it good and hard from the really awakened freedom fighters. If those people wanted to hurt him, they would have hurt him.
You don’t really care. I can tell. This was just an opportunity to make yourself feel above others. Others here are making off hand comments and not personally threatening Trudeau.

I’ve been to London, Ontario………those people are quiet calm and very Europeanish with a few drops of Midwestern.

Had you not, I would have missed the proper response due to active mod censorship that leaves a whole host of people who need the education, out of the loop. I look downstream for the responses to censored posts just to see if there is something to learn. Mostly disappointment. In this rare case, a save. Nice work.

People that are allowed to live in peace and are treated like good citizens will live that way. All over the world now we have a rise of worldwide tyranny. People are feeling trapped and angry. They are tired of their lives being destroyed by this world government disaster.
Things like this are just the beginning.
I close my eyes at times and try to remember better days.
