CHICAGO -- At least 65 people have been shot, six fatally, across Chicago since Friday evening, including several children.
A man was shot Monday night on the Lakefront Trail in the Gold Coast.
About 7:15 p.m., the 28-year-old was sitting on the bike path near the 800-block of North Lake Shore Drive when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago police.
He was shot in the buttocks and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, police said.
Two backyard shootings within four blocks of each other occurred a little over an hour apart early Monday on the South Side.
About 1 a.m., a man, 50, was standing in a backyard in the 9900-block of La Salle Street in Fernwood when he was shot by someone who opened fire from a blue Buick, police said.
An argument between two males resulted in an unidentified offender opening fire about 3:55 a.m. in the 3600-block of West 67th Street, Chicago police said.
A 35-year-old man was shot multiple times in the body and was taken to Holy Cross Hospital where they were listed in critical condition, police said.
A 24-year-old man was shot in the left side of his head and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was also listed in critical condition, police said.
