Rare earths used for computer chips and batteries for EV are in abundance in Afghanistan.

Muslims hold them as 'hostage' to temp more civilized countries to try to 'influence' them with capital, providing ample targets for the Mujahideen to practice on.

China and Russia have no choice but to step in. If they do not excise the jihadist cancer today, it might metastasize into something uncontrollable......

Because Russia did such a bang-up job when they were in Afghanistan? Regardless, let China take a crack at it. That should be entertaining.

Let Russia and China fight the neighboring Muslim plague on their own. China seems to be doing a good job with the Uighurs.

“..Do you think China will partner with Muslims?..”

All I know is China is building up it’s Embassy staff in Kabul and promising all kinds of support. It appears they are doing it quickly to get ahead any other countries that may want to do so.

Of note, we had no business there to begin with.

Agree a 100% with that - never should have been there...

But the way we left reeks of weakness, betrayal, and stupidly or worse... dangerous realignments among our enemies are happening as we type.

Which of these countries, or is it both both, that have been supplying the Taliban with arms, since 2001?

So first things first - while they are playing nice right now, the Russians and the Chinese are historic rivals. While Russian hegemoney over northeastern Asia is unchallenged for now, eventually China will be looking north with envious eyes.

No of course not. A consolidated alliance of Russia And China is no business of ours. No need even to keep an intel presence in the eurasian landmass, let those barbarians do what they want. We are across the ocean and far away, right.

Commie Xi Jinping and Commie Vladimir Putin are happy that the US got knocked down a few notches.

Lol you’re acting naive if you think an embassy means anything to them.

an Embassy can be the center of all types of activity - economic endeavors, military cooperation, cultural promotions, intel activities, and all kinds of nefarious stuff. It is usually the hub. All these things are true in US Embassies in foreign lands.

China will consider Afghanistan as nothing more than a convenient vassal state to expand its influence through access to the lovely airbase gifted to them by the lunatics in the Pentagon and White House. The Chinese certainly do not want a heavily armed force of neanderthals on their borders that could spread terror into western China. For now it’s an alliance of convenience but the Chi-cons are no doubt looking at the Taliban with a skeptical eye. The Chinese see themselves as a highly educated and advanced society, and would view the Taliban as the illiterate barbarians that they are. It will be interesting how the Chinese make use of this opportunity.

I’m fully aware of what occurs in embassies. I’m fully aware that terrorists blow them up. They have no regard for them. If you think the Taliban is the new cultured terrorist , again - you’re naive.
