He also talks about heard immunity being better than the vaccine in the total population. Everyone being vaccinated for one strain of the vaccine are vulnerable to and produce more resistant mutant strains.

Keep in mind it also mutates to counter natural immunity. People who get reinfected can also generate new variants that reinfect other people. It's the same process.
