A drug used to treat rheumatoid arthritis has been found to improve survival of hospitalized Covid-19 patients. The discovery comes from a study of over 1,500 Covid-19 patients in 12 countries and is being hailed as a significant breakthrough for treatment options for people who are severely ill with Covid-19.
Early on in the pandemic in February 2020, baricitinib was identified as a promising drug to treat Covid-19 by a company using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to identify potential treatments for diseases. The drug, normally used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, was thought to have possible antivirus properties, but also known to be a strong inhibitor of inflammation. The researchers hoped that these anti-inflammatory properties would reduce the multi-organ damage often sustained by severely ill Covid-19 patients.
“Hospitalized patients with the SARS-CoV-2 infection (which causes Covid-19), often develop an intense hyperinflammatory state that can lead to dysfunction of multiple organs, including acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock and death,” said E. Wesley Ely, MD, MPH, Grant Liddle Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, one of the leaders of the study. “Despite treatment advances with remdesivir, dexamethasone and tocilizumab, reducing mortality among hospitalized patients remains a crucial unmet need,” added Ely.

Oh my so sorry for the loss of your wife! Tragic and preventable if pharma and our govt were truthful. I was reading through this thread and your post hit my heart! Prayers for you and yours. How did we get to this? I remember when advertising drugs to public was allowed. Doctors reviewed and prescribed. Doctors are pressured to go along with this insane use of every new drug. No words can replace the loss of your loved one.

Once an accepted treatment for COVID is established the EUA for the injections is voided. This according to the words in the EUA.
And exactly how many times have you treated this disease. This is the problem. You select studies only you like and claim the others are flawed. As someone who wants people to survive and treats this disease I wouldn love a silver bullet for treatment. The closest thing is regeneron
Instead of accusing me of bias and not knowing why don’t you stand bsck and actually look at your arguments. There are studies that are equally as negative about the treatments you advocate. Why aren’t those studies considered correct? Because it didn’t fit your narrative.
In a sane world, i.e. one not ruled by political consultants, we’d probably have as many drugs for Covid-19 as we do for colds and flu. Unfortunately, the political class needs an ongoing crisis.

After my dad passed away in May of 2020, My wife and I were laying in bed watching the late news and reports were coming out about the possible use of HCQ as a preventative and or treatment for the commie flu.
I looked at my wife and said, “I could swear I saw an Rx of HCQ in my dad's medicines”. Well, sure enough. He was being treated for arthritis with HCQ.
Well...go figger. Held on to it for quite some time. After extensive research...we began a preventative of zinc, D3, C, Turmeric, multivitamin and......HCQ.
By the grace of God, we've gone 19 months and we're fine, even after being exposed to the WuHu Flu (or influenza) at least four times.
