Increased Poison Control Calls due to Ivermectin Ingestion and Potential Toxicity
• The Mississippi Poison Control Center has received an increasing number of calls from individuals with potential ivermectin exposure taken to treat or prevent COVID-19 infection.
• At least 70% of the recent calls have been related to ingestion of livestock or animal formulations of ivermectin purchased at livestock supply centers.
• 85% of the callers had mild symptoms, but one individual was instructed to seek further evaluation due to the amount of ivermectin reportedly ingested.
• No hospitalizations due to ivermectin toxicity have been directly reported to the Mississippi Poison Control Center or the Mississippi State Department of Health.
• There are approved uses for ivermectin in both people and animals. Patients should be advised to not take any medications intended to treat animals and should be instructed to only take ivermectin as prescribed by their physician.
• Animal drugs are highly concentrated for large animals and can be highly toxic in humans. Some of the symptoms associated with ivermectin toxicity include rash, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, neurologic disorders, and potentially severe hepatitis requiring hospitalization.
• Mississippi physicians, providers and hospitals that identify patients with illness related to the ingestion of ivermectin, either prescribed or livestock formulations, should report to the Mississippi Poison Control
Center at 1-800-222-1222.

fools who bought meds intended for animals.
Then mention that no one was hospitalized even then.

The Ivermectin we got from the supply store came a dispenser by weight. The full tube was for an animal of 2,500 lbs. The gradations were by 250 lbs. I assume that a lb of horse is equivalent to a lb of person!?
Perhaps, rather than be spreading the nonsense about being "highly concentrated" they could prevent more problems by suggesting that a dosage should not exceed "x" amount?

• At least 100% of the politicized complaints related to the use of Ivermectin in general for the treatment of COVID 19 were by leftists and other children that fear the truth about the drug, and the way it depreciates their new found dictatorial authority.
Call Poison Control and ask them how you convert a horse pound into a human pound.

No, a person is not a horse and absorbed and digest things at a different rate.
Another Example: What level is safe for human could be dangerous for a dog.
You should find a doctor to tell you the correct dose. There are doctors that do telemedicine that will give you a prescription for humans.

there is such stupidity in this world. Why would someone ingest something meant for a horse in large doses? Of course, folks realize that. Why does this author think we are gullable enough to believe this? Unfortunately, stupidity has no boundaries, and stupid folks will believe this mess.
My daughter has an IQ of 69. That’s low, folks. Even SHE would know better than to believe this stuff.
Just imagine if your Doc could just prescribe it as a prophylactic along with a few vitamins, ZINC, C. D-3 and a multivitamin.
Billions of doses worldwide. No problem. Use for Covid? Instant death. /s
Envision this: A bunch of Progressives calling the Poison Control Center reporting Ivermectin poisoning just to drive up the adverse publicity ... probably just what is happening and what you would expect from pond scum.
I imagine that there may have been some that actually had the medicine take out some unknown parasites that were situated in their abdomens...with some mild pain and a bit of diarrhea.
