About 83 percent of the U.S. population ages 16 and up has some degree of immunity to the coronavirus from vaccination or prior infection, a new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) study estimates.
Based on antibody levels in about 1.4 million patients' blood samples, CDC researchers estimated that 20 percent of Americans have immunity from prior infection - though the number varies by age and other demographics. The other 60 per cent have received a shot which confers similar immunity.
Experts previously cited 70 to 80 percent protection as a goal for herd immunity, but now many say we need more vaccinations and boosters to protect against the super-contagious Indian 'Delta' variant.

How do they say this when there is clear evidence that the vaccinated remain vulnerable to the new variants?

Active cases is near an all-time high (about 8.2 million, and the high last summer was around 8.9 million,) but the number of new cases are leveling out. The death rate is about a third of what it was last summer.

Well, time to move the goalposts again.
There is no indication the bioweapon will slow down come the fall. There is simply too many sick people in America via age, diet, obesity, etc. Fall will bring more deaths and more government. That is the nature of both. Lose weight, exercise, and take care of your families.
How can you report this when the numbers are still increasing?!
IMHO the vaccines are delaying herd immunity. We should have concentrated on treatments. Now we are getting leaky vaccines and viral variants.
The Jab will not keep you from getting or spreading the disease.

How can anyone believe ANYTHING the corrupt commie CDC says? When was the last time they got anything right? And let’s not forget that it was the stinking CDC who prevented the Afghanistan service dogs from being able to be on the flight provided for them on the pretense that they weren’t vaccinated for rabies. They could easily have been quarantined in an isolated area for 10 days after arrival. Yet it’s OK to bring tens of thousands of filthy disease-carrying Afghans over here, right into the midst of populated areas, and it’s OK to have open borders allowing disease-ridden filthy savages to come into our country unfettered—and the stinking commie Dims actually fly and bus them all over our country, the better to infect all of us.
