The Charlotte Observer is calling on the GOP to censure Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) over comments he made this week about political violence.
The newspaper's editorial board said Republicans should condemn Cawthorn for warning of potential "bloodshed" if elections "continue to be rigged."
"Cawthorn can no longer be dismissed as a silly Congressman braying from the mountains of North Carolina. His rhetoric is dangerous, not only to his party but his country. It’s time to stop ignoring him," the editorial board wrote.

Violence should never be a first action. But if the elections continue to be rigged (or have the strong appearance of being rigged), and the courts continue to do nothing, what options will be left?
ALL Biden VOTERS have BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS,
Recent history clearly teaches us that the only way to eliminate voter fraud is to exterminate the fraudsters.
There can be no co-existence with those committing crimes against the Republic
He should clarify: “I meant that we never know when Michael Byrd might decide to shoot another unarmed woman in the neck, now that he’s gotten away with it once”.
It’s getting pretty clear that polite disagreeement is insufficient. My company forced me to get the vaccine, and I suffered an injury from it. Not ONE LAWYER WILL TAKE MY CASE. I HAVE NO LEGAL RECOURSE. WHO WILL PAY MY MEDICAL BILLS? WHERE IS MY JUSTICE? Nowhere. Because the courts and our government have BETRAYED US. I stand with Cawthorne. Our votes are negated by fraud. Our lawmakers and courts force us to take experimental poison and offer zero remedies for injuries done to us.
“What is to be done?”
It was a decent newspaper decades back.
Typical. When did North Carolina become a red hotspot? What a dated fool I am, when I think of North Carolina I think of Sheriff Taylor and Mayberry. In reality it’s probably more like any state with a major university and urban centers filled full of useful idiots with oasis’s of patriots interspersed within.
I look forward to when these petty little tyrants around the country are dragged screaming from their offices by mobs to face the only “justice” our system has left to us.
No one outside of Charlotte gives a damn what the bird cage liner Observer has to say.
Reasons why they continue to spew white domestic terrorists are the problem. I hope all holy hell is not released on thier a##es but they continue to up the anti while warning us you better behave while they destroy America
Absolutely, positively correct. So much so, I stole your statement. Check out my current tag line.
We need to have republican lawyers write up a form for employers that state that they will be financially responsible for any damage to your body for forcing employees to inject an experimental drug into your body.
I am speaking for myself, a Christian. Do not know if Cawthorn is Christian or not.
Christians always seem to be martyrs but God also wants His family to fight for what is right, for His Law. Trump is a fighter, but his supporters seem to be compliant, not fighters.
I think we are learning to passively fight ie through Courts, the bureaucracy, agencies, legislation.
Is it time to fight aggressively?
All through 2020 we had actual violence from Antifa and BLM that was egged on and excused by the Demrat leadership. Kamala Harris even encouraged donations to bail out rioters.
Where was the Charlotte Observer then?
They should MOAB BoA.
“ I look forward to when these petty little tyrants around the country are dragged screaming from their offices by mobs to face the only “justice” our system has left to us.”
No time like the present. Seriously though, that time is surely coming.
It’s not a reflection of North Carolina. Virtually all big city newspapers these days are so far left that they don’t even show up on radar.
For the Charlotte Observer, there can only be one strategy, one bottom line — submission/acceptance to servitude.
I am going to plead ignorance here, hoping you can answer this question. I know the manufacturers were give immunity from prosecution, were private companies and local governments given that same immunity?
