Aside from debasing the meaning of the word "insurrection", this sentence is needlessly vague. More than 7 months have passed since the Jan. 6 protests. There's been plenty of time to determine exactly how many (if any) actual assaults on federal officers took place and how many charges will be bought which don't deserve to be laughed out of court.

How was contact event preventable from accident (not intent) when in most cases the “officers” were pushing the people back.

Assault can be verbal. Battery is when you hit someone. The guy telling the cops to stop the people demolishing the Capitol was guilty of assault because he was yelling.
