Sacramento school district confirms 24 students are still stranded in Afghanistan

At least 24 Sacramento-area students are confirmed to be stranded in Afghanistan as turmoil continues in Kabul, according to school officials.

San Juan Unified school district staff said 24 students, down from from the initial estimate of 150 students, had not returned to campuses since the start of the 2021-2022 school year.

After reading The Sacramento Bee’s story about two students stranded overseas, staffers at Sacramento Congressman Ami Bera’s office contacted San Juan Unified and are working with the district to bring students back safely.

“Our office has been in close contact with the San Juan Unified School District, and have urgently flagged the students’ information with the State Department and Department of Defense. We have not received an update from the State Department or the DOD,” read a statement from Bera’s communications director Travis Horne.

Well, the article doesn’t suggest they are Americans.

Let’s say what really happened. They were abandoned by the Biden administration, who wanted troops out by August 31 so Joe could have a photo op on 9/11. Abandoned, not stranded.

What the hell would kids be doing in Afghanistan?

They were from California. They probably believed the stories they heard about Americans being bad people and the Taliban being nice people.

What exactly does the school district have to do with this? Surely, these “students” were traveling with their parents to visit family, and not on some school trip. I know that was the case with the 20 San Diego area “students”. They were visiting family in Afghanistan.

Saint Joe told them not to worry, that everything was fine and the Taliban would not take over.

I wonder how much ransom the Taliban thinks these students are worth.

I dont care if they do have their citizenship or green cards. They are from there and had the choice to leave for the last 2 months. They can rot. The dogs didn’t and deserved to come back before them.

What kind of stupid parent allows their children to go to Afghanistan when Zho Xiden is president?

From what I have read, they are “anchor babies” getting educated in the USA.

If so, they are back where they belong.

If they are citizens, we will pay a lot. We still have about 40 prisoners in GITMO, and many are the worst of the worst and have been there almost 2 decades. They might get set free, along with the $10B+ we have seized from the now defunct Afghan Government.

Of the 24 students allegedly missing I wonder how many of their parents voted for Biden.

This article is missing a whole lot of context. Are the stranded students American citizens? Why did they go to Afghanistan? Was it school-sponsored program that sent them there? Etc. Etc.

I wonder if Slow Joe will be checking his watch when 24 body bags are sent to Cali?

———————————————————————————————-

I recently read that there were 24 students from El Cajon, CA, along with parents, stranded. I bet there are still other student groups there that haven’t been reported on yet.
