Britain is prepared to launch air strikes against Isis terrorists in Afghanistan, the head of the Royal Air Force has signalled.

Air Chief Marshal Sir Mike Wigston, the Chief of the Air Staff, said the UK must be able to 'play a global role in the global coalition to defeat Daesh' and that could include strikes.

Meanwhile, Dominic Raab, the Foreign Secretary, has said the UK will work with other nations to defeat Isis 'by all means available'.

Mr Raab said Britain 'retains the right to exercise self-defence and that must include in relation to terrorist groups operating from abroad'.

How many times have your heard Trump use the term “Daesh”? The first I heard of it was Barry, bowing and conceding to them. To Trump, as he obliterated them, they were Taliban, ISIS, mad dog murdering terrorists.

Nigel Farage hit Xiden & Co. pretty hard last night on Newsmax. Said the UK likely will not trust the US or work with/rely on the US Military with The Demented One in the WH (not a Farage quote).

Their lies helped install him, their lies hurt Trumps presidency. They celebrated when Biden “won”.

A little too late for our “special friend “ to be unhappy.

Daesh is a term ISIS hates. It’s a demeaning term to them.

Happy to be your full allies once Biden has gone. No matter how histrionic some FReepers on this thread get.

Hint to the hysterical: it wasn't Britain that put Biden into power.

It was corrupt state officials in your 'Night-voting states', and a culpable level of disinterest from your Supreme Court. Deal with your internal corruption, don't just shriek at foreigners.

and every single day during Trump the corrupt media said Trump was the one with no international friends, and it's just the opposite.

The term "Daesh" (or Da'ish) has been used as a way of challenging the legitimacy of the group due to the negative connotations of the word.

Daesh is essentially an Arabic acronym formed from the initial letters of the group's previous name in Arabic - "al-Dawla al-Islamiya fil Iraq wa al-Sham". Although it does not mean anything as a word in Arabic, it sounds unpleasant and the group's supporters object to its use.

Daesh also sounds similar to an Arabic verb that means to tread underfoot, trample down, or crush something.

This reminds me of Joe Frazier, when he was asked why he still referred to Muhammed Ali as "Cassius Clay." He just smiled and said, "Because it makes him mad!"
