We used to call Planet 9 Pluto before delisting it. Sounds like they’re now just re-discovering it - probably gave up on it after delisting.

The "9th planet" is now the asteroid belt. It used to be a planet until it exploded, taking Mars' atmosphere with it.
Or at least that's what Richard Hoagland always told me on Art Bell's late night radio program...

I can draw a circle in the sky and it too would be a “Potential Orbit” of something.
How ‘bout you stop playing with Stellarium and get off your butt and try and to find it first by actually looking through a telescope.

"may be a black hole the size of a grapefruit."
Which leaves a whole lot of questions. Why a grapefruit and not something else? Does it taste like one? Can you add sugar or does that ruin its health benefits? What is the actual color of a grapefruit? Pink? Red? Why do they call them grapefruit?

Actually, the planet has been traditionally referred to not as Planet 9, but as Planet X (were X does not necessarily represent the number 10).

Maybe it’s “dark matter.”
To: algore
It’s planet X (as in 10) damnit. Pluto is still a freaking planet.
I saw a video of how this crap about Pluto being demoted happened. It was at a conference of a couple of hundred astronomers. A vote was taken and Pluto lost.
Really? Is that how “science” works these days?
