Looks like they cut out the Famous Amos Chocolate Chip cookies from the pic.

I could do 60 miles in a day, for four days in a row. When I was young, I had an unlimited stamina supply.

I only state 30 miles, because that’s all I need to do in my security duties. I could walk the entire 12 hours if it was required, instead of patrol for an hour and rest for an hour.

Yep. Just borrowed himself a school bus and invited a load of people to go with him to Houston.

I never heard anything about him getting a medal and a parade, or a cash reward or anything like that though.

I’m not saying it’s impossible but most people today couldn’t
come close to that average. Like I said a military gait will
get you 4 miles/hr. When I was a kid we used to walk to our
grandparents, about 3 1/2 miles. It wasn’t hard. Take care.

I’ve often wondered the same thing.

Yeah, you just can’t help but smile (or laugh out loud) at that pic. It’s just got all kinds of awesomeness in it.

center now back over water

per recon: pressure up a few notches to around 989ish after a few hours over land as cloud tops warmed but likely still a 75 MPH cane

It wouldn’t necessarily be a steady gait either that I would do. I would take advantage of all hills and whatever I can use to speed up.

Am expecting the same response as with the Afghanistan debacle. A word salad speech followed by a quick retreat, under the shadow of a fragmented, incompetent federal disaster response.

And a reminder, Camille just didn’t kill along the Gulf Coast, it killed about 150 in Virginia from flooding, so those states need to be aware as well.

No Pubbies to blame this time.

Don't worry...they'll find a way. They always do. Count on it.

This is from Wikipedia, so take it at what it’s worth, but it seems well-sourced and a Freeper had told me he went to prison. Apparently he got released because of Covid concerns and now lives in ... drum roll please .... Texas, unfortunately for Texas.

“In 2014, Nagin was convicted on twenty of twenty-one charges of wire fraud, bribery, and money laundering related to bribes from city contractors before and after Katrina[3][4][5][6] and was sentenced to ten years in federal prison.”

He didn’t let the crisis go to waste...but he went too far.
