A group representing over 30 whistleblower and anti-corruption groups around the world is urging the United Nations secretary-general to protect Emma Reilly, a U.N. human rights lawyer who risked her career by reporting undue Chinese influence at the U.N.
Reilly fears she will be fired for her efforts. She alerted her bosses at the U.N. Human Rights office that – at the request of China – her office handed over names of dissidents who were coming to the U.N. Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Switzerland, including some U.S. citizens.
Reilly said this resulted in pressure from Beijing on the dissidents not to make the trip. She said that included pressuring their families which in some cases resulted in arrests, torture and, in one case, a person was reported to have died...

Are they going to deport her to China?
Hey, at least they aren’t tossing them from balconies and rooftops like the good o’l days 15 years ago.
Thge UN is controlled by Islamofascists and Communist Chinese.
They have been waging war on the Free World for decades at the UN.
We pay the institution far too much money, and they iuse it to increase their own tyrannical power.
Cut them off.
Emma Reilly, a United Nations whistleblower who has faced retaliation for reporting illegal practices that she said put the lives of activists and their families in danger at the U.N. Human Rights office, has called on Secretary of State Michael Pompeo to implement a law that calls for the U.S. to defund the U.N. by 15 percent for noncompliance of its whistleblower protection policy.
A few thoughts on whistleblowing. The term refers to a referee, who is someone who can legally “call the shots.” A referee can’t, normally, be fired for doing his job, which is to referee...or, to blow the whistle when he sees something wrong. Our organizations are hierarchical. That means the guy above you on the hierarchy can legally call the shots. Now, if that guy is doing something wrong your choice as someone lower on the hierarchy is to “blow the whistle” and leave the organization, or write an anonymous letter to someone who will investigate the wrongdoing...or, do nothing at all. Just keep on doing whatever the boss says even if it is wrong. Those are the only choices.
One thing you can not do is “blow the whistle” and then remain in your present job working for the same people who you blew the whistle on. It doesn’t matter if there’s a law “protecting” you or not. If you remain there and they can’t legally fire you, they will assign you to clean the toilets in their South Pole division. It doesn’t matter if you are the chief nuclear scientist or the manager of engineering, you work for them and in most contracts or employment agreements there’s a clause reading, “other duties as assigned.”
I shake my head in disbelief every time I read one of these “the whistleblower was fired” stories. Duh!
The UN should have been dissolved years ago.
I would bet $$$ that when Trump is back in the Oval Office, he will remove the UN from the USA.
