WASHINGTON (Reuters) -There was no indication from the White House on Thursday that President Joe Biden plans to change the Aug. 31 U.S. withdrawal target after twin explosions at the Kabul airport, a source familiar with the situation told Reuters.
Biden was meeting with his top national security advisers in the White House Situation Room as reports of the blasts, which he and other officials have been warning about, were made public.
Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Mark Milley monitored events in Afghanistan via video links in the secure room, in a meeting that lasted well over two hours.

I've heard reports that OUR State Department told Macedonia to stop taking Afghan refugees. @SenTomCotton tells me he's heard similar reports. If our govt won't save these people, WE WILL. But the State Dept. must stop standing in the way.
This group makes the monkey cage at the local zoo look like a brain trust.
They need to push out to more defensible positions. Set up barriers and funnel people in smaller groups to be let in. Push that crowd away from our people.

Hell, as much as I hate to admit it and even say it, this could be the catalyst for dropping in the 173rd and 82nd to retake Bagram and go back in.
Again, even though it really doesn’t need to be repeated.....Thank You to Governor’s KEMP, Ducey, Wolffe, Sisolak, Evers, and Whitmer....Thank you to the SOSs in each of those states...Thank You to the state legislatures in each of those states...Thank You to the AGs in each of those states....Thank You to the various state and federal courts(although I’m glad the feds stayed out of it) that refused to hear any challenges or instantly declare ‘lack of standing’ to said challenges...For all of them are the reason this is happening.
But we the Republican voters share some responsibility, as well. And that has to be acknowledged if we’re to be honest.
