The U.S. ambassador in Kabul has told staff there that four U.S. Marines were killed in an explosion at the city’s airport and three wounded, a U.S. official with knowledge of the briefing said. Two explosions ripped through crowds of Afghans trying to enter the airport on Thursday.
At least three U.S. troops were injured, a U.S. official said. Witnesses reported multiple fatalities among the Afghans, many of whom were trying to enter the airport because they had assisted U.S.-led coalition efforts and feared persecution by the Taliban.

JUST IN - U.S. State Department goes into hiding and cancels today’s briefing.
I would bet my last dollar that most of the Senate Republicans voted for Biden.
And the remaining troops still on the ground are going to have a hell of a time evacuating now. This is going to get ugly and was totally avoidable.
CatHeard said it was on the radio that Biden is not making a statement today.
If true, my disgust and dislike for this man and his cronies has grown exponentially. Words cannot express my grief for those soldiers this a$$clown placed in harm’s way.
It’s time for this man to go.

I hate to say this, but it ain’t over yet. Who knows how bad this is gonna get? God help our people over their.
Especially as ISIS closes in and gets within reach to lob bombs over the walls.
Taliban only the perimeter, that Air Force and other military would not make sure the taxiway and runway being used by a C-17 would be clear of ANYBODY?
That was not possible due to the runway being overrun by people. Rotary wing aircraft were used to attempt to disperse people from the taxi-ways and runway - see https://www.itemfix.com/v?t=onfi0g

If true, the level of my disgust and concern for America will increase.
A real POTUS would cancel the agreed pull out date and zero out aid to Pakistan. The US should leave that hole on our terms. It’s time for the Taliban’s allies to feel pain. Real pain.
Just wait until they start shelling the runway.

Will Biden send another combat brigade to defend the one that is there now?
Our brave troops are facing the danger and this administration is hiding.
They continue to prove that they are either bad a math or good at lying.
President Biden is not worthy of your service and sacrifice. Shame on him and his Cabinet.
And all we can do is watch it happen….
