BRUSSELS, Aug 20 (Reuters) - The European Union expects Novavax (NVAX.O) to submit data needed for the possible approval of its COVID-19 vaccine around October, an EU official told Reuters on Friday, in what could be another delay for the U.S. biotech firm.
Novavax signed a deal with the EU this month to supply up to 200 million doses and said it would complete the submission of data to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for the vaccine's approval in Europe as early as the end of September. read more
"We expect data around October, but we are not sure about the precise timing," an EU official familiar with the process said under condition of anonymity as the matter is confidential.
"It's all very uncertain," the official said, noting that further delays were possible. However, the source said a decision on the vaccine approval was still possible this year, "as long as there are no more delays".
Novavax's protein-based vaccine uses alternative technology to the four shots already approved in the EU. The Pfizer/BioNTech (PFE.N), and Moderna (MRNA.O) vaccines use messenger RNA (mRNA) technology while the AstraZeneca (AZN.L) and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.N) shots are based on viral vectors.
That makes the Novavax jab more interesting to the EU, which is seeking to diversify its portfolio of vaccines.

Okay, that was cynical but with the way this country is these days, I wouldn't rule it out.
this is the vaccine I wanted to wait for, since it is apparently a regular old=fashioned kind of vaccine and not this newfangled mRNA business that was never tested before in any mass scale inoculation campaign.
But my doctor of many years really pushed Phizer so we got that. I guess I am doing okay as an experimental lab rat, ha! We will see.... longterm...we will see.

Nobody needs a vaccine for a virus with a 99.9x% (where x digit depends on age and prior health) survival rate without a vaccine. So-called experts try to pretend we don’t know that Wuhan is in China, meanwhile they are spreading communism globally. We zoomed past socialism, and need to stop pretending what we are dealing with now. Folks wanting to risk 42 TRILLION spike proteins per dose can be my guest, but the damage those do to your body can never ever be repaired.

This is the one I was looking at also. It has viral proteins not mRNA.
With natural immunity I can wait.
In the news several weeks ago the company said they might have to distribute it in the third world because of so many vaccine mandates in developed countries.
It would be interesting to see a breakdown of deaths by:
each vaccine
each dose of each vaccine
That would give us an idea of which might be more lethal, etc.

The spike proteins that are in the mRNA’s and J&J/AStrazeneca are what is causing havoc with blood vessels/heart attacks/clots/neurological damage etc. Ironically those spike proteins are ALL that is present in the pure injection of spike proteins marketed as Novavax.
