Bloodied and beaten by the Taliban - this was the fate of one man claiming to be an Australian citizen as he tried to reach Kabul airport today as the Islamists defied Joe Biden's demand to let evacuation flights continue unimpeded with just hours left to get civilians out of the country.
The man, whose identity is unknown, was attacked after the Taliban vowed to stop people reaching the airport despite Biden demanding that they 'allow access to the airport for those who are transporting out and no disruptions to our operations' in return for US troops withdrawing from the country by August 31.
Video shows the man at what appears to be a Taliban checkpoint with blood running down his face and dripping on to his pink polo shirt, saying in accented English: 'They hit me... I am an Australian citizen.'
Lord David Richards, former chief of UK defence staff, said he is 'pretty certain' that British flights will have to stop on Friday to allow enough time for 1,000 troops to fully withdraw by August 31, the date Joe Biden committed to yesterday under threats from the Taliban.
France says it is 'very probable' that its flights will stop tomorrow, while Poland said it has already stopped flights due to the 'security situation' at the airport. Hungary will also stop flights soon.
Fears are now growing that civilians could rush the runway and trigger a deadly stampede in a repeat of the horror scenes from last week, or else opportunistic terror groups such as ISIS could attack packed crowds - fears that will only grow as troop numbers dwindle.

Ok this kinda pisses me off. There are a lot of young fighting aged men crowding around the airport wanting evacuated. IMHO it looks like they were content to let the US fight the Taliban and now that we are leaving they are looking to leave too!! IF they gave a crap about their well being they should have taken up arms against the Taliban instead of surrendering. WTF

The United States just suffered the GREATEST military defeat of our LIFETIMES, far worse than in Vietnam, because North Vietnam just wanted us out, but had no intention of carrying the war to our shores, in a messianic crusade. And we did not leave THOUSANDS of Americans behind in Vietnam, as Benedict Biden has done in Afghanistan. Benedict will not be able to stop their infiltration amongst the refugees, or across our open southern border.

Actually, a lot of people think we left thousands of US servicemen behind (ergo the black POW/MIA flag...)
As far as there being thousands of Americans stuck in Afghanistan, to me that sounds rather unlikely. Who are these people? And how can there be thousands of them when the media has found about 2 so far, both with thick Afghan accents.
Unless the Taliban are shot and killed they will do whatever they please
If you are a stranded American, you cannot count on ANY Afghan to help.
A previously “friendly” Afghan could now be your worst enemy.
Many are probably contractors hired by the U.S. government for things that did not require military. This kept down the count of soldiers for P.R. reasons.
Some are probably with private security companies like Blackwater, and they could be doing their own hostage extractions right now. There may be some wild action that is not getting reported.
