Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid says the Taliban are no longer allowing Afghan nationals to go to Kabul airport because of the chaotic situation there.
At a news conference, he said crowds at the airport should go home and their security would be guaranteed.
But he said the US had kept on inviting people to the airport to board planes.
"We ask the Americans," he said. "Don't encourage Afghans to leave... We need their talent."
He added that Afghan media outlets were now working again, as were hospitals, schools, university and local government.

Speaking at a news conference, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the “one thing that is a problem” for the militant group is the growing crowds outside Kabul airport.
He said: “To help we are trying hard but unfortunately the Americans are still continuing their previous policies in relation to that and they are taking Afghans out of the country to an uncertain future.”
Mr Mujahid called on the US to “not encourage” Afghan people - especially doctors, engineers and the “educated elite” - to leave Afghanistan.
He said that Afghans should no longer go to the airport, adding those who are still there should head home and their security would be guaranteed.
The spokesman also said that the Taliban does not want foreign embassies to close, claiming diplomats in Afghanistan have been assured of their safety.

Yep. They want the Afghans not to leave so they can kill them in revenge. Those people are condemned to death anyway so they may as well be used to help establish an atmosphere of terror, solidifying the Taliban hold on power.
