Trump becomes most vocal ex-president since Teddy Roosevelt: Over 400 statements since WH exit
The Washington Times ^ | 20 August 2021 | SETH MCLAUGHLIN

As the chaos in Afghanistan unfolded, people around the world were clamoring to hear from President Biden, who was on vacation at Camp David.

What they got in his absence was a steady drumbeat of statements from his predecessor, former President Donald Trump, who gleefully carped from the sidelines about the catastrophe.

More than a half-dozen press releases boiled down to one sentiment that Mr. Trump delivered in characteristic capital letters: “MISS ME YET?”

The man who blazed paths with his words in the White House is still at it, running perhaps the noisiest, rowdiest and wackiest ex-presidency in American history.

In slightly more than 200 days since he left office, Mr. Trump has fired off more than 400 statements and press releases through his Save America political action committee and his official office as the 45th president.

Targets include Rep. Liz Cheney (a “warmongering fool”); his own Supreme Court picks (“gutless”); his attorney general, William Barr (“RINO”); media outlets (Fox News, The Atlantic, The New York Times); Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (“the most overrated man in politics”); Medina Spirit, a Kentucky Derby horse, (a “junky”); and the U.S. women’s soccer team (“leftist maniacs”) with a special emphasis on star player Megan Rapinoe (the “woman with the purple hair”).

His favorite topic has been the November election, the subject of more than 60 statements over the past seven months, as Mr. Trump pursues an unprecedented campaign to discredit the results that cost him the White House.

“Donald Trump has never been a traditional political candidate nor a traditional president. You’d expect that he’d be just as unconventional post-presidency,” said Jay Williams, a Republican Party strategist.

Mr. Trump started slowly, by his standards. His PAC released only a couple of statements in January and then a few more in February.

I loved how Trump backed down at his rally Saturday night when mentioning his “vaccines”...

Many people were booing and Trump said “Okay, you have your freedoms, you have your freedoms.”

Uh you think? The one thing I don’t like about Trump is insistence on this Jab...

I know he has his EGO, but jeezus, Trump.

Have you ever known a former president who can draw a crowd of 40,000-45,000 to a political fundraiser (last Saturday, for the Alabama GOP)?

I’m very happy Trump has found certain websites that allow him to get his message out when and as he pleases.
Good that he could have a big rally.

**I did not hear anything about those attending his rally being harrassed or harmed by the usual groups; Antifa and BLM. Does that mean nobody suffered any injuries from these Bums? Hope so.

I don’t think DJT ever refers to any particular vax, but if he does, he will probably mean the FISA Vaccine.

Not only is it almost like him being POTUS, but it is almost like DJT is directing Talibidan to deliberately botch things, for a reinstatement.

Based upon his rally the other night I think he’s just warming up. TRUMP 2024.

He is not an ex president. He is a duly re-elected president in exile and candidate for the next election. He is in full campaign mode. As a political candidate he is completely within norms to attack the incumbent.

Probably it was too long of a drive to Alabama, plus they wouldn't have the cops standing back to let them beat up the Trumpsters. And the Trumpsters might have fought back, that's not fair!

Good. They never gave him one moment of peace to be President. None of them.

as Mr. Trump pursues an unprecedented campaign to discredit the results that cost him the White House

I mean it’s a fair point. After all, he did fake an intelligence report, weaponize the FBI to spy on his opponent, and set up his staff to establish a narrative that a foreign nation stole the election for him ….

. Oh wait. He didn’t do that, they did that TO him. And impeached home over it. A few tweets ain’t even close to that.

Yeh not to mention riding around openly in a full presidential motorcade and meeting with his cabinet in Bedminster. Almost like a shadow government. 🤔

President Trump didn’t back down one iota...!
Pay attention!
President Trump has never been for a vaccination mandate and you know that!....stop twisting words!

He has never insisted on the vaccine, he just provided access to one.
Your rude words are not respectful.

He may be the most vocal but he isn’t the most active. That award would go to Obama who continues to pull Joe, Hillary, and many other(s) strings. He is also up to his fetid behind in this Afghanistan debacle as well.
