Seven NFL head coaches lost their jobs last year.
Is the head coach always the problem with a bad NFL team? Obviously not. But a head coach is the highly-compensated captain of a $200 million operation, and his job is to win. Coaches who don’t win get fired, because being a perpetual, complacent loser is unacceptable.
The ongoing collapse of the U.S.-backed regime in Afghanistan is the geopolitical equivalent of an NFL team going 0-16 twenty seasons in a row. Perhaps it’s worse than that, in fact. The Afghanistan disaster is the equivalent of an NFL All-Pro team taking on a Division III liberal arts college, being shut out, and then crashing the team bus into a ditch.
But unlike an abject failure in sports or (arguably) business, there will be no accountability whatsoever for the Afghanistan disgrace. And until America rediscovers the ability to hold its leaders accountable, it will always be a nation in decline.

Austin and Milley to start with. If there were a way to fire Biden of course he’d be gone also. We need a real ‘come to Jesus’ moment.
Our local dog catcher does a better job and he’s Chinese.
Looks like you forgot to circle the overflow flair on Milley’s other lapel.
These generals did as ordered.
If anything, they are guilty of treason, not faulty planning.
of course they are... sports is what captivates the former fighting man of the USA.
I’m convinced that when this age is in the history books and all the sociologists and historians have this era to review all tucked away nicely between dates and events, that sports will be viewed as one of the major ‘opiate of the masses’ that kept the people distracted while the corrupt politicians sold the people’s sovereignty and freedoms to the highest bidder.
Your dog catcher is probably happy to be an Americsn and living in America unlike the hypocrites on the left who take everything and than badmouth it
“Is the head coach always the problem with a bad NFL team?”
normally no. But if the team that is not drawing fans, no matter what the sport, someone has to be blamed. And coaches don’t have tops cards. The players make money being players. The coaches make money for the post season.
Haven’t seen any Nike shoes for coaches, or helmets or bats or hockey sticks, or basketballs or....
Merchandising and the TV contracts are what make money. Losers don’t get them or sell them. And even on teams that have a great competitor, he’s the only selling jerseys and getting interviews on ESPN.
A coach is like a CEO. The owner and GM get together and decide what the coach is going to get done and how long he/she has to do it. And when it’s done, so long even if they were successful or not. Need something new for someone to bite the bullet for. The owners can’t be wrong. And they never run out of greed.

Who is going to fire who?
It’s a gigantic incestuous swamp of interconnected drones, that will swarm any force that attempts to correct the flaws.
Can’t say I disagree. From experience, the Peter Principle is personified in the military.
Our generals mastered the art of getting promoted instead of the art of winning wars.
My point was, would you condone a taliban detective searching for your lost boy.
