Mississippi Says To Isolate After Testing Positive For COVID-19 Or Face Up To 5 Years In Prison And A Fine

As COVID-19 cases rise in Mississippi, the state’s Department of Health on Friday sent out an alert warning those who test positive for COVID-19 to isolate for 10 days or face up to 5 years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

Fox News reported that the order issued Friday by State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs said that those “infected with COVID-19 must remain in the home or other appropriate residential location for 10 days from onset of illness.”

Dobbs added that people isolating due to a positive COVID-19 test don’t need a negative test to end their quarantine, but do need to be “fever free for at least 24 hours with improvement of other symptoms.” Further, any students or faculty in K-12 schools who test positive for COVID-19 are not allowed on campus during the isolation period.

Anyone who doesn’t follow this protocol, Dobbs wrote, faces stiff penalties.

“The failure or refusal to obey the lawful order of a health officer is, at a minimum, a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of $500.00 (41-3-59) or imprisonment for six months or both. If a life-threatening disease is involved, failure or refusal to obey the lawful order of a health officer is a felony, punishable by a fine of up to $5,000.00 or imprisonment for up to five years or both (41- 23-2),” Dobbs wrote.

The health officer then defined isolation as limiting exposure to household contacts and disallow visitors.

“Please stay in a specific room away from others in your home. Use a separate bathroom if available. If you need to be around others in your home, you should wear a face mask,” Dobbs added.

“ Didn’t the CDC say they are phasing out the PCR tests by the end of the year because it cannot tell the difference between covid and the flu?”

No.

It’s a rhetorical question but I have to ask anyway, if covid is so contagious that lockdowns under the penalty of fine and/or imprisonment are to be levied for citizens, then why is the same GOVERNMENT transporting covid positive illegal freeloaders to be resettled at taxpayer expense without restrictions of travel?

perhaps the paid pro pharma pro vaxers can clarify this eh?

Look up Typhoid Mary. Spent decades locked up. Asymptomatic carrier.
This was a TV special on History channel

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2349350/Banished-New-York-30-years-The-eerie-photos-North-Brother-Island-East-River—Typhoid-Mary-forced-live-isolation-nations-healthy-carrier-disease.html

Mary Mallon was taken by force and against her will and was held without a trial. She had not broken any laws, yet the government locked her up in isolation indefinitely.

Riverside Hospital, was the name of the facility on the island where she was kept. It treated everything from smallpox and leprosy to venereal disease and heroin addiction.

The island has been abandoned since 1963, but more than a dozen buildings remain, in various states of disrepair.

Typhoid Mary was presumed to have infected some 51 people, three of whom died, over the course of her career as a cook.

She died after a total of nearly three decades in isolation.

it was only a single early-developed Test that was being phased out.

Well something like that... It is the Real-Time RT-PCR Diagnostic Panel, introduced in February 2020 for detection of SARS-CoV-2, and has been the most widely used PCR test for Covid. It has a very high false positive rate. It has been required by hospitals before people can be admitted to millions of people who became “Covid cases” when they went to the emergency room for things like a skinned knee so they could get an x-ray. It has caused millions of people who had the flu or just a bad cold or some other ailment to believe they had Covid when they did not. It needlessly caused millions of people to be quarantined and prevented them from being able to travel.

But the CDC didn't want to inconvenience labs or hospitals so they are allowing this known farce of a test to continue to be used until the end of the year. Isn't that special!

Who says a repub can't be stupid? Are you selfish or something?

I read that the research has shown that a positive person can not spread the virus unless that person is showing symptoms.

So the directive should have been...those with active symptoms who appear in public will be punished by fines or....whatever.

To further damn these so called “tests”, when they come back “positive” they cannot tell you whether whatever is detected is “live” or “alive “ and at the number of cycles used for the current testing only tests whether something g exists and is most likely kely non-clinical or dead

Yes. Generally people with the disease stay in quarantine, not the general public.

Generally people with the flu are not sentenced to five years in prison.

"Mississippi Says To Isolate After Testing Positive For COVID-19 Or Face Up To 5 Years In Prison And A Fine"

Noting that I'm non-medical, has State of Mississippi suggested vitamin D3 dietary supplements to the artificial lighting urbanites residing there?

Dr. Ryan Cole referenced in first two links below.

Insights welcome.

That may well be true. I take everything they say with a grain of salt. They seem to try to imply that the reason is they want the labs to move toward “multi-plex” testing that can test for other viruses while also testing for COVID-19 instead of requiring multiple tests. But your explanation seems logical.

“So you are ok with Dobbs’ edict?”

That people who are sick stay home until they’re better? Yes.

Five years prison? No.

My comment is that quarantining people with a disease is normal. In other words stay home when sick.

Making healthy people quarantine is not.

Re: PCR test.

“because it can only detect coronavirus.”

The critical point left out is how many cycles are run.

Kerry Mullis, who created and patented the PCR test said that if ran at enough cycles he could get a rubber tire to test positive.

Anything over 20 cycles was invalid for anything.

Labcorp in Florida confirmed to me last week that they are running it at 40 cycles.
