As COVID-19 cases rise in Mississippi, the state’s Department of Health on Friday sent out an alert warning those who test positive for COVID-19 to isolate for 10 days or face up to 5 years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
Fox News reported that the order issued Friday by State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs said that those “infected with COVID-19 must remain in the home or other appropriate residential location for 10 days from onset of illness.”
Dobbs added that people isolating due to a positive COVID-19 test don’t need a negative test to end their quarantine, but do need to be “fever free for at least 24 hours with improvement of other symptoms.” Further, any students or faculty in K-12 schools who test positive for COVID-19 are not allowed on campus during the isolation period.
Anyone who doesn’t follow this protocol, Dobbs wrote, faces stiff penalties.
“The failure or refusal to obey the lawful order of a health officer is, at a minimum, a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of $500.00 (41-3-59) or imprisonment for six months or both. If a life-threatening disease is involved, failure or refusal to obey the lawful order of a health officer is a felony, punishable by a fine of up to $5,000.00 or imprisonment for up to five years or both (41- 23-2),” Dobbs wrote.
The health officer then defined isolation as limiting exposure to household contacts and disallow visitors.
“Please stay in a specific room away from others in your home. Use a separate bathroom if available. If you need to be around others in your home, you should wear a face mask,” Dobbs added.

yes. the recommendation is to put the test in a panel with the flu test so anyone with respiratory illness is tested for both. Flu and covid can occur at the same time just as rsv and covid can. If the covid test comes back negative this precludes having to obtain another specimen to run a flu test and vice versa. Despite this having been debunked many times people persist in posting this false information to further whatever agenda they may have
For me they would have to have something more than a PCR test to say I had COVID. Force them into court to prove with genetic sequencing that you actually have anything.
And how is this any different from any other flu or bad cold that makes the rounds every few years? Every year there are people who are debilitated or who die from the flu/cold.
Except that the left has politicized it and used or rather abused it, to take control over us, and destroy our economy and way of life.

What if they test positive with no symptoms at all? With almost every other modern disease, we wait until people show symptoms before quarantining them. This disease is not like the bubonic plague, ebola, or smallpox, where we would want to be extra cautious.

I am watching what is going on and has gone on and accept that Trump is not perfect I call him President Trump not the Lord or Higher Power or G-d.
But as you might recall he dumped overall COVID responsibility onto the top RINO Pence.
Then Pence sent Birx out telling the states to impose mask orders and other restrictions and they often did including states run by Republicans.
Only a handful of Republicans aren’t RINO’s IMHO and besides the libertarians like Senator Paul and Congressman Massie of Kentucky I count Trump in that column.
