Democrats had high hopes that a surge in turnout could deliver them victories up and down the ballot and give them a foothold in the Arizona state government. But as the night wore on, it quickly became clear they would fall short, leaving the state legislature solely in GOP hands.
“It was definitely a roller coaster,” Alston said. “We were looking good with early returns. And then of course, the crushing heartbreak of losing was very sad for me.”
Now, Democrats are licking their wounds and looking to cobble together a new strategy for success in state legislative races after failing to flip a single chamber throughout the entire country last year. Those defeats are particularly stinging now as Republicans are left in control of redistricting for 187 House districts, while Democrats will have full control to delineate just 84.
Those defeats stand in stark contrast to the victories Democrats projected in states like Arizona, Minnesota, North Carolina and Texas. Adding insult to injury, Democrats also ceded both chambers of the New Hampshire legislature.
And with redistricting coming just ahead of the 2022 midterms, those losses have Democrats alarmed.
“I think it's devastating,” said Amanda Litman, co-founder of Run for Something, which helps Democrats win state legislative races. “If we hold the House in 2022, it will be a structural miracle. Because Democrats failing to flip a single chamber and in fact losing two in 2020 is the kind of thing that will set Congress back decades.”
It is that alarm that is fueling Democrats’ scramble to achieve greater success in state legislative races.

That’s because their virtual voters had to vote 500,000 times for POTUS in the wee hours of 11/4. They didn’t have time to vote in down-ballot races (and in some ‘unfortunate’ precincts the workers were counting, you know, actual VOTES...)

Agreed. To be very effective conservatives need to buy in and stop it with the excuse “I’m too busy earning a living to get involved in politics.” That excuse won’t go very far as we’re being carted off to some FEMA camp or worse.
We need to get involved with the local and state politics. They all have candidate and issues committees that draft platform amendments and most importantly interview and screen candidates. We as sane conservatives need to take control of our side, we need action…now.
I’ve seen it happen locally when we took the party away from the RINO establishment with just 4 firebrand conservatives. We hauled a state representative before the county board, dressed her down in public and thru the press and actively recruited a primary candidate which caused the RINO to quit and moved to Cabo. (She had co-authored a stupid, unnecessary $0.05 gas tax increase for the first year with annual tax increases for 4 years until they got a full dollar a gallon increase at the end.)
The next cycle that quartet had drawn others out of the woodwork who had been beaten down by the GOPe and the county party worked like Whirling Dervishes and turned the entire county state representative group RED. We can do it, especially if Freepers get disengaged from their keyboards and get involved locally. There are no more informed voters than most, I say most, others in the voting public than a Freeper.
The complete takeover of the voting system is proceeding step by step. First step was to get the presidency so the algorithms and all the fake ballots were aimed almost exclusively at “electing” Joe Bidet. The Georgia Senate race, however, was also targeted and “won.” In 2022 the effort will be on all Senate and house races.
Many of our one time solid conservative talking heads like Shapiro will proclaim the election count FAIR and honest even as everything goes to the Democrats with totals greater than number of voters.
They will just cheat some more.
I live in a 100% mail-in voting state so my vote is worthless due to vote fraud. The main reason I keep voting is to purge the Republican party of RINOs.
RINOs are Democrats who run as Republicans in order to get elected or to split the vote in order to prevent a conservative Republican from winning.
30 state houses are Republican controlled. What better time to have a Convention of States? The RATs keep trying to Nationalize the cheat. Ted Cruz ended one such attempt at 3:30 A.M. . Sooner or later they will succeed. Stop them while we can with Article V.
VOTE DEMOCRATS OUT.

But, the bulk of Freeperdom think the GOP can deliver We the People from destruction. It ain't gonna happen.
