Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Saturday said he’s now testing negative for COVID-19, less than a week after he was diagnosed with the virus.
“I am now testing negative for Covid. I am told that my infection was brief & mild because of the vaccination I received,” Abbott wrote on Twitter.
“I will continue to quarantine as recommended by doctors. And, I will keep working on issues affecting Texas. God bless you all. And God bless Texas.”
The 63-year-old Republican, whose effort to ban mask mandates was recently rejected by the Texas Supreme Court, had been isolating at the Governor’s Mansion in Austin and was receiving a monoclonal antibody treatment from biotech company Regeneron, his spokesman previously said.

Abbott has made me mad recently, due to some of his decisions as Governor, but I still want him to recover quickly from this virus.

I recommend he lay off of the DAILY asymptomatic PCR testing. It’s not only UNNECESSARY but it also both sets a bad example and sends the wrong message. IMHO, of course.

How long ago was he vaccinated? A pathologist on Bannons War Room yesterday indicated his COVID19 active antibodies from his vaccination 4-5 months previously were non existent?! He suspects the vaccines have short duration.

BS... He never even had it. False positive from a vaccine that the CDC admits is highly unreliable. They didn’t even use Covid to design it. And they are banning the test at the end of the year. Come on people. Get a brain.
Sometimes I feel like I am in the twighlight zone. People here are supposed to know that the test has officially been declared unreliable. Yet they act like they don’t. Have I traveled to another world?
For future reference, 98% survival rate is terrible. At that rate, we’d have over 7.7 million dead Americans right now.

You multiplied the entire population by 2.0% to arrive at 7.7 million.
Given the range I provided, you could have also used 0.02% to arrive at 77 thousand.
But you chose the rate for those in their 80s.

Good grief...he (like a good friend of mine who had MAJOR comorbidities and was vaccinated) recovered quickly due to Regeneron.
THAT is what should be offered to people immediately & we could end this stupidity immediately. This TREATMENT has been available since early this year. The manufacturer is completely puzzled by the fact that they have MILLIONS OF DOSES AVAILABLE...and they are not being used.
It is a travesty; tens of thousands have died due to this medical malfeasance.
My immediate thought as well... up to a 90% false positive rate and used to intentionally magnify the number of cases for political purposes. Whether the test comes back positive or negative depends largely on the number of times the specimen is oversampled. By CDC protocol the number of times a specimen is oversampled depends on whether it came for a vaccinated or unvaccinated person. More manipulation... Gov. Abbots first test was most likely based on the unvaccinated protocol and the second on the vaccinated.
