Armed Afghans push out Taliban from 3 districts in first local assault against the militant group, according to reports
Afghans have reportedly begun to fight back against the Taliban, retaking three districts on Friday from under its rule.
The anti-Taliban groups say they killed dozens of Taliban fighters and captured 20 others in the assault.
Throughout the swift takeover, Afghans have been openly defiant of the Taliban.

This is in the north where the afghan resistance is located
From what I have read the Afghans that have driven out the Taliban from a few areas are members of the same groups that fought them since before their first take-over. They are militias loyal to local leaders, including the son of the famed leader Ahmad Shah Massoud.
They were reportedly blindsided when the ANA troops in their areas simply left without fighting against the Taliban, and have now regrouped and gotten back to fighting to defend their homes.
Nobody in the US national security bureaucracy had to do anything to get these men to fight. The only reason they were not fighting previously was their deference to the central Afghan government.
The rapid Taliban advances have probably left many weak areas around the country that can fall to anti-Taliban militias.
If a 25 mile radius secure zone ~100 miles north of Kabul can be created, the Air Force will be able to construct air strips for transport aircraft and use helicopters to evacuate civilians and soldiers from Kabul. Very likely the Taliban will soon close the airport. Very dangerous but may become necessary.
This is what it is going to take. Let them battle it out. Their country, their land, their blood, their wealth, their lives.

Hope this is true. Saw the story elsewhere but it is interesting that the far-left Business Insider published a story that wasn’t anti-America. Guess their “Fact checker” was taking a “nappy” along with Biden.
