New York City’s “Homecoming” concert at Central Park was abruptly halted in the middle of Barry Manilow’s performance Saturday evening — as lightning storms tied to approaching Hurricane Henri descended on the Big Apple.
Concertgoers were told at 7:37 p.m. to “proceed to your vehicles and protected areas outside of the event center” as Manilow was singing his 1978 hit “Can’t Smile Without You.”

I think it’s funny that nobody, I mean nobody, likes Barry Manilow or his music. Yet there are several comments with his lyrics and song titles in them, everybody knows who he is, and he sold about a kabillion records in the 70s.

Back in the day when guys in drag was entertainment and not a lifestyle I knew a guy whose friends were going to a Halloween party dressed as The Supremes so this guy decided to go as Diana Ross with a Sequin dress, wig, and stuffed bra.
He stopped to get some gas on the way there and a guy at another pump started cat calling him, “Oh, baby, you look fine! What’s your name?”
He turns around and in his near baritone voice says, “My name is James”. Said the other guy was speechless.
