Americans in Afghanistan rescued by British military: former deputy national security advisor

Matt Pottinger says the situation 'could get worse' in Afghanistan following the disastrous pullout by the Biden administration..

The British military has stepped in to evacuate some American citizens who were left behind in Afghanistan following the Biden administration's chaotic pullout of U.S. forces and the nation's quick fall to Taliban terrorists, according to former Deputy National Security Advisor Matthew Pottinger.

"The United Kingdom right now, I know that they’re running patrols into Kabul to get British citizens, Afghans and in some cases Americans that they encounter, and helping bring them to safety," Pottinger told FOX Business' Larry Kudlow on Thursday.

Pottinger, a former Marine who served four years as a senior aide in the Trump administration, said NATO allies "in some cases, at the risk of the lives of their own diplomats, have been arranging for Americans and students, journalists, Afghan staff who have been working at the American university in Kabul, for example" to flee the war-torn nation that the U.S. occupied for 20 years up until the disastrous departure of the American military earlier this month. The former Trump official said those allies have "been escorting, creating safe passage and escorting those people onto the airbase and flying them out to safety."

He told Kudlow, "So when the full story of that comes out it’s going to be quite stunning what they did when this really was not their mess to fix."

Following the departure of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, President Biden sent back thousands of American military personnel after Taliban terrorists took over the nation in a matter of days. But Pentagon leadership said U.S. forces that have returned to the country are not tasked with going beyond the Kabul airport to retrieve stranded Americans, unlike their British counterparts who are scouring the country conducting rescues.

Biden says he does not 'recall' if he was told to keep 2,500 troops in Afghanistan!?!

Biden: No advisers 'I can recall' said to keep troops in Afghanistan!?!

President Joe Biden said he would have still pulled troops from Afghanistan without Donald Trump's deal and said he doesn't 'recall' military advisers telling him to keep a presence there. !?!?

Babies are being tossed over the walls to the waiting U.S. and U.K. military to save them.

From NY Post:

“The mothers were desperate, they were getting beaten by the Taliban. They shouted, ‘Save my baby!’ and threw the babies at us. Some of the babies fell on the barbed wire,” a Parachute Regiment officer told the UK’s Independent.

“It was awful what happened. By the end of the night there wasn’t one man among us who was not crying,” he added quietly.

Anyone missing me, yet?

Arguments can be made about the US policy to pull out - there is a strong feeling that US involvement couldn't continue ad infinitum. But the manner of the withdrawal has been hapless, with a mass of miscalculation, warnings ignored, and - critically - a wild over-estimation of the capability of the American-trained Afghan armed forces.

The policy may have been framed by Donald Trump when he was president, but Joe Biden owns this unfolding chaos.

Anyone missing me, yet?

Brave, Brave Sir Biden

He was not afraid at all,
To abandon us at Kabul’s fall,

When the Taliban reared its ugly head,
He left us all to die and fled,

Brave, Brave Sir Biden

Oh my, not too dissimilar when Canadian ambassador Ken Taylor helped rescue a few Americans in Tehran in 1979.

I am curious how the British paratroops are doing this, and how they are going exfiltrate with their rescuees?

Hiden Biden, elected infirm
Fondled the girls and made them squirm
When the taliban came to play
Hiden Biden ran away.

British paras and the SAS are generally folks you wouldn’t want to f*ck with.

The same used to be said of patriots within our own borders.

"...escorting those people onto the airbase and flying them out to safety." I hope they didn't charge the Americans $2,000 for their rescue./

This is a disgrace. I can’t believe we are having to rely on the courtesy of other nations.

Where are our tough troops? Did WOke Milley get rid of them for transgenders?

The ultimate slap in the face would be if the French rescued Americans from the taliban, in direct disobedience of biden’s agreement with the taliban.

No, but all the badassery in the world won’t help if they have a couple of technicals with 14.5mm HMGs.

That would be a good deal for our side.
